i loved this clip when mark first posted it and it still sounds so good

there will always be that disconnect between how an amp sounds in a clip versus how it plays and feels with your gtr/speakers/fx in the room but man if i could plug straight into an amp and get this tone with the right squishy feel and sustain i'm after, i'd be totally pleased!

the peacemaker isn't a simple plug and play deal. the cameron atomica was the closest to that thing i've played where the vh tone is there and the single notes feel fat and slippery kinda like a boogie.

My mod 5 72 sounds like this plug and play. Minus the reverb. I wouldn’t call it fat though. I’d call it harmonically rich and cutting.

your description fits too. the sensation on the top 3 treble strings where there is lotsa bounce and life to them for single notes and double stops, allows steering the note to be round or bright just by finger pressure, and it doesn’t just compress to a flat one dimentional sound on the upper frets but remains vocal.

i mentally compare it to writing with a high quality ball point pen versus struggling with a cheap bic that’s just about out if ink.

talk about cork sniffing…for those that think dumbles are expensive!

I read that this was a super lead turned into an 800 but it really doesn’t sound like an 800. I have 3 2203s and they sound a lot more compressed. The mod 5 has more aggressiveness and attack in a good way. Hard to explain. But the amp really opens up with the ppivm turned all the way up and use an attenuator. It took the harshness out of it that you get using the master.

The part that’s strange is the way the 2 volumes work. I know 1 is a gain but it doesn’t act like you would assume.
