this thing is almost freakishly bizarre, it's hard to believe some of the acoustic sounds, the alternate tunings, etc are as good as they are. I'm impressed, I definitely will have uses for this axe.

Cool demo as always Pete. One question... one thing I really didn't like about the Tyler Variax was the palm muting. I noticed you did that on one of the acoustic models and it sounded good but was curious on how you thought it felt. I really couldn't not get good palm mutes with the piezo's on the Variax.

Thanks!

Those work via a divided hex pickup like the Roland GK system right? Can it be used to trigger a guitar synth too?

I think it works great, check the tracking when I'm playing the acoustic sounds and palm muting/picking fast....

I saw that and it really made me interested. I liked the versatility of the Variax but couldn't get past the feel. I'll have to check one of these out.

Great video! Lots of great tones coming from that guitar and gives tons of combinations.

This sounds so much better than the original VG strat that was released about 5 years ago. I will have to keep my eyes open for one.

So can you plug this straight into an amp? Meaning there is no need for a brain or foot controller? Sounds F'ing great and would be even better if you can plug in directly.

Yea! You just plug into the amp. For the acoustic stuff, I'm running into the Axe FX, using the tube preamp model and a bit of compression. You could just a/b between an amp for electric stuff and a d.i. of your choice (or axe fx, pod, or any acoustic processor) for the acoustic sounds.
