Ronnie James Dio like you’ve never heard him

What's the good stuff for you?
The first band I ever saw was The Beatles on Ed Sullivan, so I should say 1964 to 1982. Some of my favorite musical artists of the 60's and 70's are Glen Campbell, Loretta Lynn, Three Dog Night, America, The Raspberries, Simon and Garfunkle, CSN&Y, James Gang, Free, Alice Cooper, Deep Purple... Too many to list. Listening to those bands today, takes me back to the days of Johnny Quest, Quisp cereal and Roller Derby! :)

On a personal note... My interest in rock music took a huge nose-dive with the death of Randy Rhoads. By 1985, I was more interested in bush, booze and blow. Waking-up with women, and no recollection of how or where we met became the norm. My drinking got so out-of-hand, that had to make spare car keys. I would drive to a club and toss the key, so that I couldn't get back into the car.

For those who don't know, a rainbow (per biblical teaching) is a visual representation of God. For the record... I tossed my DIO cd's back in 1988.

I missed the Dio Sabbath / Rainbow years. My first experience was Holy Diver. Been a Fan since. Of course I was in 9th grade when I first heard him. Limited to music then.

Whatever, that second tune is jamming. Killer drum break in there.

why? Due to religion?

No religion. It was the result of practice. A purely physical manifestation. Nothing implied or imagined. Had I been alone, I could say that I imagined it, but I doubt it.

sign of the covenant between God and man ....if I remember correctly...also-glad I went ans saw him with heaven and hell.....awesome show....think he died the next year...

From what I could tell Bon’s package was anything but small
Buddy, these dynamite in small packages frontmen
have a lot against them being so short in height
but pack so much emotional raw sound from their throats & diaphragms that they have to be the frontman by nature.
Just f’n bad Mother’fkers on and off the field.
For me these DCISP’s, are a fatal toxic combination to burn down the town with.
I know for a bone chilling fact, if I ran with Keith Moon something legendary is going down followed
by everybody f’n dying or picking up some beefy
rock -n- roll battle scars.
I don’t think he’s a legit DCIP’s dude though..?
Bonham…hmm
