Rush '76

I had the honor of witnessing that amazing band on the Moving Pictures tour. Easily one of the best concerts I've ever attended.

I’m late to the party. I remember my older brother got tickets from our parents for Xmas in 76. He ended up taking a 714, went outside because he was fucked up and missed the entire concert. Lol

Saw Rush several times. First time was my 18th birthday - March 4, 1986 at the Montreal Forum. Marillion opened up. They were great every time.

Almost died for Rush. Ha

Picture this, cold snowy night and the wind was whipping pretty good too in Detroit, me and my buddy thought it'd be a good idea to catch a bus at about 2am to wait outside Cobo arena for tickets the next morning. Fucking Moving Pictures baby. Nobody would be there waiting in this weather for sure. Wrong.

This insane pushing thing started on the stairs leading up to the box office and for about 4 hours this psychotic whirlpool of fuckheads, us included, swirled around. We lost everything, it just got swallowed up. Thermas, blankets, jackets whatever until the end.
Rushing the box office breaking out the plexi to enter demanding tickets now(two hours early, lol) being trapped by the stampede I lost my shoe even.
Luckily my buddy who had it worse than me, totally face down trapped, was saved.
Insane, and the tickets we ended up getting....well, not so good.

The show, fuck, they did side one Hemispheres ok. That was pretty cool.
I think Rush was at their peak then.
The look...not so much

My first Rush gig was 1981.... I was 15. They were awesome. I saw them every tour after that until 1996 I think.. I went to the last tour with Peart. I don't think I want to see them anymore. I'll stick to the albums and memories..
