You made a general argument which is reasonable. You just haven't offered any specifics, which even if you did would be of limited value because your assumptions are speculative. But it does make you sound "Smart."

...Given that NASA and presumably the entire military uses a flat non-rotating earth for their calculations, that point is moot.

It's not speculative. Not at all. I offered no general statements and you like to play games, so you go right ahead and believe whatever you want. I'm not going to have a multi-day argument over proving something to someone who goes out of their way to troll and grasp at straws that more often than not have nothing to do with anything. If you can't figure out, I can't make you believe. The latter thing you said is not true outside of the inertia of mechanical systems which doesn't require a round earth model. It's a spherical cow. That's it.

Unlike you, I never made any absolute claims. I have beliefs. You could very well change my thinking, or at least give me pause. I don't think you really have anything though. Now you're not even willing to say which of Putin's statements are easily disprovable.

I'm not sure what would have to be going on in your head to believe that Russia, who 80% of their missiles fired at Ukraine have been neutralized and who as a superpower has been unable to win a war with fucking Ukraine for a couple years now, somehow came up with some new, groundbreaking technology that no one in the world could ever hope to overcome. The whole story is ludacris. It's not even new technology. It's old technology put together in a new way. And no experts anywhere in the world believe Putin's ridiculous claims. I think Putin's intent was to have a limited ("Special") military operation. But Western support coupled with Ukrainian willingness to throw themselves into the meat grinder has given Russia real problems. I think by not using initial overwhelming force Putin has risked the escalation we see which could ultimately lead to nuclear exchange. In short I appreciate his intentions but practically speaking it was a bad strategy.

Most Americans are evaluating Russian success on whether they pulverize Ukraine or not. Russia clearly has that capability, but Putin doesn't want to. He has an ethical and rational grounding and understands that a basket case next to Russia is no better than a NATO country there.

Technologically we are. Sheer numbers, China.

Russian military equipment is old, outdated crap. A few steps above what Iran has. They rely way too heavily on their nukes as a deterrent. Which is why they rarely meet their objectives in Ukraine, which yeah, annihilation isn't one of them, but they aren't even dominating in the smaller, secondary fights and objectives. Their soldiers are tired and poorly trained.

Both Russia and Iran (And China) have hypersonic missile tech that the US doesn't. The Zircon neutralizes any US warship or carrier and likewise the Orishnek, which cannot be intercepted, is capable of taking out any NATO base (Not to mention European city) WITHOUT the use of nukes. They have a large and battle tested military. The Slavs are a tough people. They don't do the trans stuff either.

Source for both claims? I have heard that maybe the THAAD system is capable of intercepting a warhead or two, but A) the US only has something like 8 of these systems, four of which are in the Continental USA and B) it is impossible that they could intercept all the multiple warheads AND decoys for a given missile, let alone multiple missiles. I also think it is unlikely that Russia would allow one of these systems to be placed anywhere near Ukraine.
