Safety concerns with SPST power/standby switches?

You should break neutral and hot both for safety on the mains switch as only breaking one assumes all outlets aren’t wired backwards when polarization and grounding pins aren’t enforced. It can be a deadly assumption to make especially with janky stage power sources or shit clubs.

They are right, DPDT went into mine for this reason.

Something else people get wrong for code - the ground wire should be soldered to a tab from a bolt dedicated to chassis ground AND THE ASSOCIATED NUT FOR THAT BOLT MUST HAVE A LOCKWASHER. A lot of people miss that last detail.
