RS's biggest problem in life is not being in the spotlight. I'll remember to shed a tear for him as I try to find another job so I can keep my 1-bedroom.

FFFFFfuck Ritchie Sambora and his rich man problems.

While I agree that Sambora wants to have his cake and eat it too (and kind of screw Phil X)... kind of telling how you single-out Sambora's "rich man problems" and not Jon's.

screw Jon Bon Jovi and his political agenda. Cause a dood who writes butt-rock anthems should be involved heavily in political discourse. Him and "The Boss" can keep their friggin NJ political BS to themselves. Like anyone who goes to a Bon Jovi show is looking for a political education!

As far as Sambora the player... he's always been very tasty and I've enjoyed the body of his work. In fact, I'm thinking of putting "Church of Desire" in my upcoming rock project.

The airing of dirty laundry... knew I smelled something.

Who knows what really happened!
I think it's clear that Bon Jovi is running the band as a business and act accordingly.
When it hits that point, I think anything is possible even the firing of one of the original member.

But yeah, a divorce is never a good thing.

Plus one.

Any business that has an employee getting paid 2 million dollars a month for not even turning up to work would be looking at firing him somehow. How is this a surprise?

Love Richie's songs, playing, and voice. Couldn't care less about his dramas with Jon. And Phil X is great, nothing but respect for that guy.

It ain't bon jovi without sambora let's be honest. If I paid to see Bon Jovi, i'd want to see Sambora. I enjoy the clips of Philx ripping through the tunes though. Great player.

Ya know... I often take shots at Texans on the forums that I'm on, because so many of them seem to think that the entire freakin' universe revolves around TX. But I gotta say... outside of that whole center-of-the-universe thing... I really dig you guys from the land of rattlesnakes and longhorns (and BBQ!!!). But I'm a lifelong WY/MT guy. Apart from winter and REAL mountains... I don't think that our states are too far apart idealistically.

Apparently a Bon Jovi without Sambora isn't suffering. Refunds were offered to those who wanted them because Ritchie wasn't playing with them but every arena is still full.

I've never been a big Bon Jovi fan, but I'd go see them with Phil. Then again, I dig Phil's playing. Ritchie's good too but his style never caught my ear the way Phil's did.

WERD to that. Would be sort of like AC/DC without Angus. Rush without Alex. Etc.

Having said that... JBJ's made-to-impress-chicks writing style isn't exactly specific-guitar-hero centric to most of his audience... considering that most concert-going chicks are focused on the lead-douche... er lead-singer (as long as he's got pretty hair like them).

Bonjovi was a teen pussy band for the most part. Wet panties to see Jon. Tag along dates got madly laid by a girl wishing he was JBJ. I can dig it. Very few women like rush.

I think there are some great pop rock songs there. Sambora is just the guitar player. As great as he may be, or have been, he is disposable. As we have seen.

Unless you are the face of the band, you are expendable. Seems like Sambora will be fine.

I detest the political BS of BJ and Springsteen. Won't go see either.

Exactly, not a guitar hero band.

Different strokes for different folks. I'm constantly amazed, although not surprised at how narrow minded and judgmental guitar players are. What's wrong with a band that's geared towards bringing in more women to shows than men? Why are you concerned about their hair? Are you losing yours already or something?

Kind of obvious that there is an incentive for John to have Phil x replace sambora, that reason being the $1,990,000.00 per month the bands saves by paying Phil x $10,000 as opposed to two million that sambora earned per month. It's kind of lame for Jon not to allow for samboras return if he wants to play on stage. After all, they built the band together. As for the belief that just because you are a musician that you shouldn't have a political opinion is just foolish. He believes in helping out others as opposed to just hoarding all money and pushing an agenda on lower taxes for the rich which is unusual. It is lame that he cancelled the ny star fair show to go hobnob with politicians though. I guess he has his reasons.

Wait...

They were only paying Phil X roughly $10K a month?

I'd be SO embarrassed if I were BJ or RS right now. How fuckin' rude of them.

I mean, ya, Phil's fresh meat but he's got a tremendously cool attitude, and yes, he has to work his way up the ranks in this bullshit business of rock and roll. But for a "corporation" of Bon Jovi's wealth and magnitude to be able to carry on a rockin' live tour thanks largely in part to the coolness and talent of a cat like Phil X, only to turn around and fuck him with pissy pay while everyone else gloats in their fat financial boats??

Sucks major ass. And for this, the whole fkn lot of 'em can suck a pole.

Phil X, you deserve better man :salute:

I disagree. What was Phil making before this gig? Don't get me wrong. He's a monster for sure but he's just a hired gun. They could easily have someone in that role and 99% of the audience could care less. I highly doubt that anyone bought a ticket to see BJ to see Phil.

He's got a dream gig. Playing with the biggest band in the world playing the largest venues.

Plus, he didn't write any of the tunes. Why should he get more?
