10000.00 a month no way. Try close to that a week for Phill. The tech makes more then 10000.00 a month.

That makes a lot more sense. $10,000/month would have been laughable for Phil X to accept for all the shows that they do every month.

Guys...that article, although it was on Billboard, was picked up from a website called "rumor fix". Also, until an official announcement is made, don't believe everything you read, especially about PhilX making 10k/month. He tweeted yesterday, in his words, "you know how I know http://RUMORFIX.com is full of shit? I wouldn't even leave my house for that salary." I don't know Phil but he seems like a straight forward type of guy.

Take these things with a grain of salt. It could all be true or none of it could be true. I'm betting a lot of it isn't true.

Also, about the venues being full...tons of tickets were given away to help fill the stadiums on this tour. That's a fact. I've also never seen the amount of people trying to sell their tickets, especially the crazies from the fan club getting rid of gold circle and VIP crap.

Meh Sambora is over rated. He could easily be replaced. There are a lot of guys right here on this forum who could do it.

Didn't mean to offend. Sambora is a bland player to me, he just plays lollypop rock. JBJ is the draw card, Bon Jovi the band would motor on just fine with a replacement guitarist. As mentioned he's no Angus Young!

No offense taken. Just that the statement wasn't really a good one. There's a huge difference in sound, especially without his vocal. I cringe when I watch videos from this tour. Phil X is great but although he plays the songs well, it's still not there. I can hear all the missing nuances but like I said, the biggest thing are his backing vocals. Nobody in that band can duplicate those....and just like Michael Anthony, it's a part of their signature sound.

Yeah, I see your point, maybe get some back up singers?

You're missing the point.  They have back up singers...but nobody has that distinct voice like he does. While the note is there, the sound isn't. I didn't even mention his presence on stage either. I love Phil X but he ain't coming close to that. The show suffers from a viewers standpoint too as Jon and Richie always interact...there's none of that happening now.

Yeah sometimes the chemistry is just there with a Band. Sort of like Kirk and Metallica.

Not sure I'd go that far.

In the very beginning Sambora lobbied hard to get the job as the guitar player. But fast forward today, the bands name is Bon Jovi as in Jon Bon Jovi. I saw them 2 years ago and Richie was half assing everything, hardly played, just jumped around being cool, and the other guitar player was doing the heavy lifting.

Can't deny what he has done with the band, but his substance abuse and personal issues took a toll as would any band.

As for Phil X making 10,000, that is very generous for a fill in guitar player, doesn't matter who you play with. The music industry will say you are lucky to be on the same stage as Bon Jovi and this may open doors for you.

Vivian l only made a 100 bucks a week with Dio (217.00 in todays dollars), and when the band convinced the 19 year old to ask for a raise, he was fired.

Basically called paying your dues. So Phil X is probably ecstatic on his pay.

See my quote from Phil above.

Comparing a Dio tour from the early 80's to a stadium tour today is crazy. Also, Richie isn't 19. He's a 30 year member of the band and co-writer of ALL of the biggest hits in rock music. Huge difference.

So what if they care about their hair? Every day people spend time grooming themselves every morning before the work day and "care" about their hair.

I have no idea of your age but you sound like a narrow minded, bitter old man. Why so many people find it necessary to belittle the things that aren't to their liking is a mystery to me.

Lol... get off of it Bob.

My disgust for JBJ is rooted in him being just another rock star who feels the need to involve himself in politics (governance = CONTROL over people's lives). And I resent his NJ, Springstein-ass-kissing ass being involved in any way shape or form in the passage of national policy and law above his own single vote.

If that makes me a "bitter old man" then so be it. Just call me Walter...

I'm a fan of Bon Jovi like I'm fan of Katie Perry. She's got a couple of catchy tunes that I don't mind and I think she's kinda hot at times.
So you're saying that you think Jon is kinda hot at times too?

Yeah, I really don't get all the forum hate on Sambora. The guy co-wrote some good songs, is a good guitar player and a good singer as well. He's accomplished more career wise than most will in a lifetime, writing songs and playing guitar. That's what most of us dreamed to do. Lot of people complain about his "bland mediocre playing". But I always liked him because I felt like his solos always fit the song. That's what it's all about.

:hys: I was wondering if I was the only one who caught that.

No hate at all. Some great classic fun songs. Cowboy, Bad Medicine, livin on a Prayer. Way better than the Journey radio ballads....
