I'm a fan of Bon Jovi like I'm fan of Katie Perry. She's got a couple of catchy tunes that I don't mind and I think she's kinda hot at times.
So you're saying that you think Jon is kinda hot at times too?

:hys: I was wondering if I was the only one who caught that.

I also remember reading that Jon and Richie making a lot of money getting Cinderella signed back in the day. Supposedly Richie gave the money back to the band and Jon didn't. Don't know how true it is......

I heard from a source very close to the situation that there's not a single accurate statement in that story. I'm now questioning whether or not everything I read on the net is even true.

Basically called paying your dues. So Phil X is probably ecstatic on his pay.

See my quote from Phil above.

Comparing a Dio tour from the early 80's to a stadium tour today is crazy. Also, Richie isn't 19. He's a 30 year member of the band and co-writer of ALL of the biggest hits in rock music. Huge difference.

Dio back in the 80's were Huge stadium tours. Also Dio was a big deal, he was well known as the Frontman for Rainbow and other bands. Actually the 80's and early 90's were the peak of stadium tours. That has drastically dropped. Band used to play 3 times more shows and to bigger crouds, because ticket prices were cheap. 7 to 10 bucks for a big act. Now you have to pay 50.00 to 100 for semi decent seats. Thus smaller venues.

But at the end of the day, Sambora was a decent guitarist with the band.
Here is a interesting clip of the documentary that was done over 5 years ago. The guys say the band is not a Democracy. And Jon and Richie had issues before

Guys liking BonJovi. Lol :D

Let me guess, you only like that manly metal with the manly men adorned in leather, sporting big boogery man beards while singing about their big many hogs.

ALL MANOWAR, ALL THE TIME :)

I kid Bob, just zero artistic merit/attraction for me. As someone who grew up in the 80s, BonJovi was just complete poser dreck. Tease your hair and do fluffy crap then go the Jon Mellancamp route and be "a serious artist" when your hair metal bonus points run out. At the end of the day; he plays music for an absurd amount of money while I toil away in the salt mines; so what does my opinion matter :)

Ha!

I hear you. Was never a Bon Jovi fan although they've had some tunes through the years that I liked, but I don't have or see a problem with the path they took.

Not a bit. I like Katy's look most of the time and I enjoy some of her songs at times. But alas, she's another music celeb who likes making douchy political statements. I just wonder when these ENTERTAINERS got the notion that they were ever anything more than paid dancing monkeys to the public. Most people listen to music to get the hell away from frustrating subjects like politics. I'm a VERY political person, but when I'm sick and tired of thinking about that garbage, I TURN UP THE MUSIC to escape from it all. I'm not alone in that. It's one thing if you're a fan of artists like Bruce Cockburn. Political statements and serious subjects are his schtick. I can even deal with Bono because he's been doing his thing for so long and at least came from a place well known for its messed up history.

The vast majority of Bon Jovi fans don't give a crap about his politics. I've been gigging on stages for 27 years, and despite being VERY politically opinionated... I've yet to make a political statement on the mic. People aren't there to hear me make political statements. They're there to be entertained, have fun, and get away from garbage like that. Somewhere along the line too many current celebs started taking themselves too seriously and got the impression that the audience wanted to hear their opinions. They don't. In the words of the great Frank Zappa... SHUT UP AND PLAY YOUR GUITAR!!! (Which I'll go do myself now!)

Bon Jovi?
Nobody cares about the guitar player in that band. Come on. Laughable.

Did somebody compare Sambora to Angus Young? That's just stupid. Geez guitar players are ridiculous. :)
spot on dude.......spot on

Jon Bon Jovi is the boss. Richie's an employee. You do what the boss wants when the boss wants or you find another job.

And that's the problem with arrogant band "leaders", who forget where they come from.
Regardless of how good or not Sambora is, he still WROTE a LOT of the music that brought fame to JBJ along with all that money.
That's far from being just "an employee".
The new guitar player is just an employee playing someone else's music.
Even if he is a great player, he's not going to get to play his own music.

For the record, regarding musicians and politics, I have NO idea what JBJ's political views are nor do I care.
But, I do respect and defend his American right to have them and express them, just like those of you on here who have stated yours.

Is that scott travis behind the kit snoring his way through the set?

i have never met JBJ so have no idea what he's like in the flesh, but on that DVD he came over as a total dick, like a 50 year old male Miley Cyrus just churning round the wheel for more money. Plus his vocal performance live now is a joke, why anyone would pay $100 to hear a guy do a monotone nasal interpretation of the tunes is beyond me.

Yes it is quite possible I could care less about Bon Jovi .Than a new taylor swift song about an ex
