I feel like th answer is no...

I have my Sig: X, Dirty Shirley 40, Bottle Rocket and Quick Rod.

Quick Rod is spoken for and I have been looking at some Revv and KSR stuff. Was just talking to someone here and he says his amp quest is over! I wanna feel that way! LOL!

I get stressed out thinking of only having one amp. Anyone else here running solo and loving it?

Been KIND of thinking whittling down but can not commit.

It's a nice thought for sure... besides the Butterslax the only other amp I feel would be good to have in a 2 amp scenerio would be to have a Dirty Shirley for the non metal stuff. So let me know when you are ready to part with yours Jer ;) Not sure if I could do one amp though.

I got to admit though the KSR and Wizard MTL clips lately make me wonder if they could replace my Slax and then some.

Yep, I found it

I hope the local shop brings one in, I need to try one.
Other than my clip I’m yet to hear one that actually sounds like the amp in the room.

Once, I owned a myriad of amps all at the same time. Engl, Laney, Budda, KK2203, Recto, Pitbull, JVM, 6505, JSX, etc...a full wall of amps.
I realized what I liked and sounded my best through, because otherwise I was just constantly turning dials, speaker/cab swapping... essentially just muddling up my what my ears were hearing and second guessing myself tonewise.
I sold them all except for the JSX and JVM. I only play the JVM now. No regrets. More play time, less experimenting.

I feel ya brother! I start thinking I could do with just my KSR and Germino ( As a matter of fact pretty sure I could) but I can't bring myself to let the others go. And I always want to try new stuff.

Maybe for someone who has very narrow musical tastes. For most, no way.

I just have a 2204 now. I feel that it can fit into whatever genre and work well. I wish I could sell down on guitars.

That sounds great! Which cab/speakers?

Sure it's possible!

But clearly not as much fun...

Man, I gigged for 17 years with just one cheapo rig, 2 guitars...no issues. Break a string, grab the backup. ADA MP1 never broke down, Mosvalve power amp was reliable. Messed with a few DSLs and 800s but always went to the mini rack for the gigs.
Rigtalk is to blame for all the flipping...thanks a lot....

Impossible
Need a Katana or something similar for quick jams
Need a big tube head because it’s awesome

Then need 5 more tube heads for forum cred

Nah, I don't buy it. I've been down the "wall of amps" road. I've owned every boutique amp I have ever wanted - many of them at the same time. It's self-defeating to keep chasing incremental differences with amps.

There are plenty of multichannel amps that get great cleans and great dirt. Add a few pedals, and most guitarists could be happy and get all the sounds they want for many different styles.

I'm not saying anyone should limit themselves. Buy and own all the amps you want. It took me owning 15 different high-end amps at once to realize how unnecessary it was. But it was a lot of fun

If my BE100 didn't have such a lackluster clean(not bright enough when presence set for the gain channels), yeah I'd be using one amp.....I have the most up to date with the orange board(2014) model, sounds GREAT...I hear the new Buxom Betty clean is the shit, if it's as good as claimed, yeah I probably could get all I need out of one amp and be happy. Until I get the guts up to ship my amp to Dave....it's looking more and more like a JC120 is in my future.

I like the idea of being finished and finding the sound I want(I'm there for gain/fx...cleans are actually being more difficult for the sound I want), more concentrating on playing/making music. Nothing against folks who like lots of amps, more power to ya(good for the companies that make the amps we love too)!

I think so, for me I could live with one amp... the CCV. It had a clean channel (which can get low to mid gain) and a dirty channel which can get some cleanish tones to high gain. Dirty channel has a switchable master volume which can add or subtract gain as needed. I can use the loop to add in an EQ to get into many different territories. Sitck a pedal out front on the lower gain channel and you get that modded Marshall tone with the "hair" on it. Plus my CCV has high and low power along with a pentode and triode switch. Boom!

Subjective though it is, I’m fortunate enough to have either owned or played through any amp I’ve ever wanted to. I feel there are a few things going on here. Most importantly over time, being honest with yourself about what it is you truly want to hear, whether or not Life has granted you the good fortune to be able to test drive what you want, sometimes more than once. And, what are you trying to achieve musically. It’s way too much fucking fun though at the end of the day. Get yer pull!
