Well not quite.

I put my PT100 up for sale on CL and here's the kinda crap I gotta deal with. :doh:I want to respond to this guy but am looking for some good suggestions of how to fuck with this asshat. :D

Thanks for the prompt response.. I am ready to buy it now as a gift
for my brother,I am at sea at the moment as i am a marine engineer and
due to the nature of my work, phone calls making and visiting of
website are restricted but i squeezed out time to check this advert
and send you an email regarding it. I really want it to be a surprise
for my brother so i wont let him know anything about it until it gets
delivered to him, i am sure he will be more than happy with it. I
insisted on paypal because i don't have access to my bank account
online as i don't have internet banking, but i can pay from my paypal
account, as i have my bank a/c attached to it, i will need you to give
me your paypal email address and the price so i can make the payments
asap for it and pls if you don't have paypal account yet, it is very
easy to set up, go to http://www.paypal.com and get it set up, after you have
set it up i will only need the e-mail address you use for registration
with paypal so as to put the money through. I have a shipping agent that
will come and pick it up after i have made the payment.

Seems like a nice guy serving our country. Why you gotta be such a prude? :)

Something like that happens pretty much everytime I list something

I'm still trying to figure out what's in it for this guy?

I am the guy's brother. Suprised ruined. I'll just swing by and pick it up. He'll pay you if you just follow the instructions he laid out.

He said I should pick out a Les Paul of my choice while I'm at your house. How's 5:00 sound?

  I can save you a trip and just deliver it to you tomorrow night if you want?

I know. I mean first usually there is a fishing email asking if it's still available. Then I get some crap like this. I mean are they just looking for your contact info or do people actually fall for this?

He says he'll have a shipping agent pick it up. So does he claim that he never received it then demand a refund from PP?

This is a total Scam!!!! I have had number of these when I was selling my Bogner's and my daughter almost bought into one of these when she was selling something. Stay away from these!!!

tell him you dont like paypals fees... just wire the money western union, and you'll go pick it up and then ship. probably never hear from him again.

That was my original thought.

That is the standard scam language. An agent picking it up. You should fuck with him.

Start by asking how the T-Bone is at sea for all those months.
Ask for his brother's address and you might be able to deliver it personally.
Ask him for his PayPal email and you will send him a Request for Payment through PayPal.

There is a guy over at the Birds and moon's forum that has a field day fucking with these scum bag scammers.
He string's them along for a while, while posting the email exchanges which can be pretty entertaining....He's even gone as far as getting a few of them busted.

Scammers suck!!!

I say let him pay you with paypal and send him a box full of garbage at around 50lbs. Just include a picture of yourself with the amp giving the camera the middle finger.

  Problem is he doesn't want it shipped. He's going to send someone to pick it up.

I was bored one summer and went along with a couple of these...collected a few bogus checks.....was fun for a minute

I fucked with the last guy who did that to me. Got as much info as I could off him, and finally when I couldn't get any more I sent it in to the FBI and Internet Crime Bureau. Then told him. :D
