School me on the Bill Lawrence pickups please...

Doesn't sound like a business I'd like to deal with. It's 2015. Communication has never been easier. No excuse.

I have an L500 in one of my Jacksons. High gain, tight with clarity. But it also has a strange cocked wah nasal thing going on too. I like the sound for somethings just not everything :D Also, I've never tried it but I think it would be a good candidate for a 1meg volume pot. I think that might open it up a bit more.

The Bill Lawrence USA L-500XL is my favorite passive bridge pickup. It's got an amazing clarity to it for a higher output pickup... and It has some very unique characteristics to it. It's bright because of the higher resonant frequency, but not at all icepicky. It's a razor sharp, defined sound. Kinda relaxed mids... Thick on rhythms, vocal on leads...

The B&B version of this pickup is not the same, it has a more typical sound to it, and is a bit higher output. I think the usa version is more detailed. It has more of that razor sharp rhythm sound that I like.

I had a set of the L500's in my USA BC Rich Bich 10 string, and I though they were just about the worst sounding pickups ever. Same goes with those Bill Lawrence/Gibson "circuit board" pickups. Come to think of it, my Rich Bich sounded like shit, no matter what pickups I used. Try them out, they may be exactly what you're looking for.

Yes Sir.....going into my new guitar. :D
Your the Best Dougie....my lil cup cake from Jersey. :inlove:

didn't care for them at all. Way too bright and harsh sounding for me.

People seem to either love or hate these pickups. I had a B.L.USA but never got around to installing it and sold the guitar and pickup.

I built a 'Nuno' super strat (configured to N4 specs but fixed bridge) with a Lawrence Bridge Pup (whichever model Nuno was supposed to have used) and it was, literally, the worst pickup I have ever played. My Bentley plywood starter guitar from when I was a kid had a better bridge pickup. I ended up with an SD Screamin' Demon in it.

It is one of the few things, the only other being BBE Sonic Maximizers, that I am willing to unilaterally warn people off from. It was a tone crime.
