Scored a VTM(hopefully)

I had a huge setback in life around 2012 and had to sell all my gear(which was by no means high end stuff) but the one thing I regret I let go was a Peavey VTM. Thankfully I just scored one. Supposedly it will be at a local shop in a couple days. It wasnt a deal but it wasnt highway robbery either like $375 for a 60 watt model. I've been really content with my KSR but this is pretty much the only amp I've had on my wish list since getting the KSR.

Definitely planning on switching out the headshell and maybe get a different effects loop installed. I'm really stoked.

The loop is just an insert loop, if I remember correctly. Could definitely be upgraded in that amp.

I liked the renegade when I had it. It really only had one sound though. It got bland after a bit. The original tweaker I owned was garbage sounding. Flat out gimmick.

I have rediscovered my original Rivera knucklehead recently and am in love. For the price they go used they are a steal. I paid less for that used than I sold the renegade for.

The loop is fine. I believe the deal with it is that it’s only buffered on one end. Just run a buffer or a buffered pedal in the loop. Done, and for much less work and money. Really good amps as is.

I've been watching your vids to get myself psyched for it. I just ordered a KSR 2x12 and a Ceres. As soon as my wife notices all the new gear at the end of this month I'm going to be sleeping on the couch. Totally worth it.

Im tempted to try the Ceres preamp. I will probably try one when they start popping up used. I have a modded VTM120 and a stock VTM60. I love them both. A stock VTM with the right boost is as good as anything out there sound wise. The PLX Bion Boost is my favorite.

What did you get mod wise? I have a Savage Drive and a RYRA Klone pedal that I was planning on boosting it with. I had a VTM a few years back but mine was stock but I re capped it once I got it.
I wasnt going to get a Ceres but Kyle talked me into it since there is a pretty long wait period now and it was only a 10% deposit. I just grabbed an Orthos that I'm loving and I decided to get a matching 2x12. I got a V30 and 75 creamback in it but I might change it to both Creambacks.

I really miss my old VTM. That was my first amp I fell in love with. Bought a VTM-60 in 2008 for $200 on Craigslist. Sold it when I got a D60 (which is also long gone).

Generally kind of miss playing single channel amps with a modest pedal board.
