Just got this delivered a little bit ago. My rig situation is totally shit right now. I have my gear in a shed with a bunch of other stuff. No insulation or power. Had to run an extension cord from my solar battery pack to power the amp. Oh, and it’s 40 degrees in there. lol!
My phone tripod is packed in a container somewhere in here. For now all I’ve got is a iPhone sitting near the amp.

I didn’t have it very loud, but when I turned it up briefly it sounded better for sure. And I guess most importantly it sounded like a VTM. I used the same gain and eq settings as my amp but I did alter the dipswitch settings a little.
On the amp I usually use only the Gain 1 dipswitch. On the pedal the gain 1 dipswitch added a kinda weird low end almost subtle octafuzz thing. Not sure what’s going on with that. So I used the Gain 2 dipswitch and like the amp it adds a little brighter gain boost.
I also turned on the Low 1 dipswitch to add a little warmth to the tone.
So with those settings and going into my Peavey Classic Series 60 watt tube power amp it does sound like my VTM head.
In the video I turn on a Boss SD-1 not too long in and the turn it off near the end.
I’ll make more clips and comparisons with different boosts once I get my cabin finished.

That's impressive. Those Peavey pedals are stupid good. I'd love to have their new Rockmaster pedal.

I had the chance to snag an OG Rockmaster preamp for 70 bucks back in the late 90's but I passed. What a stupid thing to do. LOL

I grabbed a rockmaster preamp back in 05 for $35 at a local shop. I about broke my wrist getting to my wallet. Grabbed my ADA mp1, foot switch, matching power amp and the matching split stack 2x12s for $350 at the same store. I miss the days when a person could find those kind of deals.

I have high hopes for these preamp pedals and I'm hoping that it inspires other companies to follow suite and we get more of the classic preamps of years gone by in a more pedalboard friendly format. I'd love a legit kasha Rock mod, Demeter, CAA, or a good ADA mp1 in pedal form.

That is utter filth..... Sounds fucking amazing man. So much edge, sludge, and clear notes. Really digging in there man and sounds great.

Cheers *_*

Boy you aren't kidding that sounds great. The clarity is impressive. Pick up and speakers?

The pickup is the stock First Act humbucker. Back when I got the guitar about 12 years ago I removed the tone knob and wax potted the pickup. It’s just under 9k and pretty much a PAF.
Running into two Peavey 412’s loaded with Sheffield 1290’s.
That is some godly tone...... Fucking probably one of the best Peavey/Amp tones I have heard.

Hella props *_*

Oh man, I hear ya. My best guitar score: I once bought an 60's Epi Riviera for $350 in 1998. Pawn Shop owner thought it was an import. I knew it was American made and I kept quiet about that. Flipped it for $1300 a few weeks later.

Peavey was smart to bring back those sounds in pedal format. Hartley Peavey was always saying "My new stuff is better so I don't look back". Well, a lot of his newer stuff was great to be sure, but I love Triumphs and Rockmasters.

From the cell phone it sounds absolutely great.

lol! I made a major life change 6 months ago. Bought a 1.25 acre lot pretty much in the woods. I’ve been living in a trailer for the last 6 months and building some stuff. I should be able to bring the rig into the new man shed this month. I’ve only played my guitar for about 30 minutes in the last 6 months.

Lot of people I know buy land. Slap a Mobil home on it with plans on building a home.
Shed looks good brother.

Sounded pretty good!
I’m definitely happy with the pedal. It sounds like a VTM. I haven’t done a side by side A/B comparison yet, but it sounds right to me.
I wish they would rerelease the amps. Or maybe a VTM synergy module.

When I started playing, where I lived at that moment, the Peavey dealer was like the biggest thing and you would see Peavey amps everywhere, but I never played a VTM. Your clip made me very curious about that pedal. Thanks for sharing
