That's awful for that to happen to a beautiful Suhr. he must have dropped it, that's more like a chunk than a chip. Never lend your friends guitars or women.

Actually, I just showed my wife and we are both pissed about it. Unreal.

Even a 3$ CD, I know it'll come back scratched or I'll just never see it again. People just don't give a fuck. And if they do, they don't give as much of a fuck as I do.
On another note, this thread just shows how materialistic we've all become.
29 year old friendship, gone
For a ding on a friggin guitar
Does it still play like a 3000$ guitar?

I have lent out $6000+ guitars without issue. I know this sounds bad, but I never lend gear out to broke people. If they dont have the means to replace a guitar I lend out completely then they dont get to borrow it.

I can assure you I am the least materialistic person there is. I know when I lent him the guitar it was flawless. its the fact he is saying he didn't do it that angers me more than anything else. it still plays and sounds ok. it might have slight tuning issues.

As long as your upfront and honest I think you would be surprised how much value is still in the guitar might not be a J custom but something of quality none the less. I would probably just hold onto it myself maybe throw some clear nailpolish on it and have a super high end gigging workhorse. As for your so called "friend" I don't think anyone would blame you if you castrated him totally justified

Yep, I never loan out my CDs, but I have my guitars and amps. The friends that I would loan my guitar stuff to would fess up if it happened to my stuff!!

I thought this guy would fess up to it. I never had a problem loaning a guitar or amp to anyone. I have lent out guitars a lot of times, for recording projects, just to let a friend play a guitar they like, etc. I guess not anymore.

not anymore he isn't. I called one more time and said, "look man, I wont be angry if you tell me what happened, obviously it was an accident." he actually had the nerve to get fake angry at me and raised his voice and said, "I didn't do anything to your guitar, it must have already been like that and you didn't notice!" so, I have written him off. I was paying back his favor. He let me borrow a killer guitar, but I kept his guitar is perfect shape. a friend would not do what he did today, so I am washing my hands of him.
