Dude that's rough...all of Ola's vids sound the same to me. Not ragging at all because that's HIS tone, but seriously; they all sound the same.

Keith has some good Duncan comparison videos.....

Steve Stevens used a JB on his Les Paul for a long time and we all know he rocks.

I'd say give it a shot. (Still, id just try the stock pickups first)

Bareknuckle aftermath, Suhr Aldrich, both sound great in those....at least to my ears.

Either of the above or BKP Miracle Man

For a LP, Any of those are a hit.
Miracle Mans are way too hot a pup. WAY too hot. Overkill on all levels. 'Least the ceramic ones are.
Stick with something designed to work the wood - VHIIs, BDs, RRs, or more contemporary goodness NBs, etc.
Depends a lot on what amp you're playing through. High gain amps sounds better with lower output pups to me, and low gain amps sound better with moderate/higher output pups.

YMMV.

Threw that A8 mag in there. Tightened it up something fierce. Hardly sounds like the same pickup. Little colder and more sterile though; gonna try it on a few amps and mess with the height some more to see what works.

Just FYI.

I would disagree. I will say they are a tad bit bright compared to the Aftermaths but I can roll that off with the tone knob. I found the Miracle Man to be very good. Cleans up very well.

I know this might be 'snake oil' but I'm gonna throw it out there. JBs have been meh for me...until I grabbed a couple 20 year old super strats and holy shit...they kill. Both Alder and built in the early 90s. They both had the stamp of one of Seymour's apprentices on the back..MJ I think? Anyway I'm sold on vintage JBs wound by her....as good as any boutique I've tried. One is a Hamer Diablo and the other is a Washburn MG 94. I've had some MCPs and one BKP set, all good but I wouldn't trade either JB for anything.

MJ = Maricela Juarez....she's the #1 pickup winder for the SD Custom Shop, right after SD himself. You want something custom out of that shop, she's the one that winds it. Legendary, dude. First pickups she ever wound were for Page in like '83.

To each their own

MMs output in nuts compared to more conservative pups... I find "good wood" guitars resonate best with pups that work the wood, and vice versa. For me, the MMs crush - hence the reason I've got them in an NT-II for heavy, chugging, muted, metal driven playing. They're insane. But I'd never put 'em in a top-notch Lester.

No wonder then. I know there have been threads on new JB vs old JB...but most of my previous super strats have been Alder, and most had JBs stock. None of them sounded as good as these 2 that I have now with the MJ wound JBs. I tried my Aldrich in one of them...the JB went back in.

She still winds dude. You need more contact the custom shop over there. You can actually call em up; it's a pretty small company.

I've got and MJ wound JBJ in my strat and it flat out kills. I've had about 6 other high end pups in that guitar previously and the JB ended my search.

I like the Custom and Custom 5 in a Les Paul.

I have a JB equipped Edwards LP Custom and it is perfect for the guitar in conjunction with what I believe to be a Jazz in the neck.

Adam Jones also has a JB in the bridge of his main Les Paul, and I'd say he has some pretty good tones.
