Seymour Duncan JB vs EVH Wolfgang

I've had both in an alder Charvel Journeyman. The JB was the stock pickup, and I swapped the EVH Wolfgang in. I ended up putting the JB back in the guitar. The Wolfgang pup is nice, but I felt it lacked the guts of the JB in this guitar. It sounded too polite. The JB is just "that" sound that has been on so many of my favorite records.
 
I just picked up the Circles guitar with the Wolfgang pickup and have used the JB quite a bit in the past

the JB is a bit more compressed and has a upper mid bite, which you may or may not like, over all the JB feels gainier

the EVH is a little more even sounding but has about the same output as the JB

they both are very good pickups!
