I have an older strat the is routed for three single-coils. Love the tones form the neck and middle. Then bridge pickup is ok, but I'm more of a humbucker in the bridge kinda guy. So, I'm looking for a single-coil sized humbucker. Have any of you guys or girls tried the Duncan JB Jr? Just wanted some opinions. Thanks in advance.

Ive been down this route a couple of times, the one that I would consider would be the lil 59, although the JB Jr seems to be good too. Ive had the hotrails and it wasnt for me - lots of output but the highs are rounded off in a way I didnt like.

I ended up just buying a new scratchplate and opting for a full size humbucker, and I don't regret doing it, for some reason they always sound better. BUT my strat has the full cavity routed so I guess thats not on the cards for you.

Paul Gilbert was using a hot single coil in this stupid looking Iceman thing I think, I think it might have been a stacked humbucker with hum cancelling...

I think this is it..
