The speakers in our cabs are the most important aspect of our tone.
I have a Mesa 2x12 with Celestion V30s, and it has some flub,
but I recently I got a 440 Live 2x12 with Celestion G12K100 speakers,'
and by using both the V30s and the G12K100s, my tone has become very full spectrum.
It brought out the upper and lower mids I was missing with the V30s,
and made my FX much more 3D.
A lot of folks, including Diezel, say that G12K100 speakers really bring Diezel amps alive,
way more than just using V30s alone. I can concur that my Diezels (VH4 & VHX) came alive when I added G12k100s.
I'm now building a project 4x12 cab with V30s and G12K100s in an "X" pattern to get the best of this combo.
I've also tried my VH4 and VHX through my Marshall 1960A 4x12 with G12T75 speakers.
It sounded great: nice thump, solid mids, pleasing highs
But it still wasn't the full spectrum.
In fact, when a Diezel cab with G12K100s comes up for sale in the internet,
it does not last long. Here's a cool video from Jarrod at Tone Wars with a Diezel Herbert Mk3 thru a Diezel Cab with G12k100s
