Shaving Kits?

I had to purchase a new shaving brush recently and it'd be interesting to hear what you characters use to shave.

I'm not talking about what you use enabling you to wear your mankini in the parade march but your daily shaving.

I haven't been clean shaven in over 10 years. Just a trimmer to keep beard at shorter length and 2 blade razor for my neck.

but i never found one that does a good job. Its just quick and convenient.
if i need to go someplace important i do a quick dry shave with a regular razor

Whatever cheap ladies razors my wife buys. You can laugh but they are geared for smoove shaving.

I had one of those manscape razors, it was real nice and would give you a close shave but would cut you good if you weren't careful. Unfortunately it fell and the threads broke off so I chucked it.

Many silver tip and 2 band badgers. Seville Row, Simpson, Thater. Last one I bought was around 3 bills.

I have a great number of soaps and splashes. I favor Barrister and Mann, Sterling, Holy Black, Phoenix Artisan Acoutrements.

Various straights. My favorite being an old Wire Cutter. No less than 15 vintage Gillette safety razors. Fat Boys, slims, various Super Speeds, circa 1931 “New”, circa 1918 “Old” ( which was originally part of a lot sent to WWI soldiers over in Europe, several I’m forgetting. Razorock Wunderbar slant, Above The Tie S1 slant, Timeless Stainless .095 blade gap.

There’s more. I just can’t recall. Been “ Wet shaving” for about 12 years or better now.

Speick shave stick soap or Speick tube cream is good.

Speick hand soap is by far the best. All of my dry skin issues went away with it as I have to wash hands often.

Muhle razors and blades. They survived the DDR and stayed in biz. Their shave soap is good also. I like the green scent but I'm more of a Speick fan.

Speick aftershave if I'm not jumping right into the shower

Great timing as my son has destroyed my Thater silver tip brush. I need a new one. Thanks for the reminder.

I got the big one ( Thater) I think it was $325.

Also I found it’s best to shave after I shower. It helps hydrate your face. Probably more important with soap than cream I would imagine. I’m a face latherer. I soak my brush while I’m showering.

My main blades are Feathers but I’m a big fan of the Russian made Gillette Platinums. Depends on the razor. I prefer aggressive razors.

Some GREAT high end stuff you have...most impressed.

When I first started I went a little crazy. Probably spent about a grand in the first year. I have probably 25 soaps but there’s a couple I really like so I make sure I always have some. If I wanted to I’m quite positive I could shave the rest of my life without ever buying anything else. I probably have 500 feathers and at least 300 Platinums.


Barrister and Mann make great soaps and matching splashes. Cheshire, Seville, Fougere Gothique, Cologne Russe.
