Shorting Jack for a Mesa 290 Power Amp Modern Switch

I dont know what a shorting jack is or even if this is what I need but I need a jack to connect to a 290 in the modern jack to turn it on always. I have a footswitch but its always on so I was told to just get a shorting jack.

What is this and where do I get one?

You take a 1/4" plug and solder the tip tab to the ground tab, easy peasy. Essentially completing the circuit like the footswitch does when engaged.

Broken cable. Get yourself a broken cable and just snip and twist the wires together and tape it up. It doesn't need to be pretty. It's just a short.
