Should be able to alter classifications under names after well known status is reached...

Works for me:

Always thought it was weird, too. I know mods have said before if they do it for one person than everyone wants to do it or something along those lines, but most xenforo powered forums have the ability to do it from the user account. The feature must not be turned on. 🤷‍♀️

I have some theories.

"Special privilege" type deal.
"Secret friendships" type deal.

Perhaps even a.......

Ridiculous bro'.

I explained it to you via PM and you still needed to create this thread? Is this the philosophy that if you ask a sufficient number of officials the same question you'll eventually receive a contradictory answer? Sure looks that way.

Anywho, for the last time:

1) Every man and his dog will change his / its classification every time he or it thinks of something "funnier".
Imagine trying to keep an eye on that on top of what the mods already do.

2) Members will have political / sexual digs at other members a la OTC. Guaranteed.
Imagine monitoring and managing that and its spilling over to the main forum.

How can it so-easily be a free-for-all on other forums and not here?
The degree of freedom here is your simple answer. This forum philosophy by-definition requires more hands-on scrutiny. Nobody's got the time to read posters' classifications on a daily basis. It doesn't take an active imagination to envisage the bickering, the "but he was allowed to say such and such and I wasn't", "he offended me" sorts of kindergarten shenanigans that will ensue.

So in-short, way too much work for basically zero reward. If a member wants to say something, let him say it in a post; it's not like this isn't the easiest option. If he wants a "permanent" label or statement he can pop it into his signature.

HTH brother. Please don't ask me to explain it again (quote of this statement predicted as a joke).

They could just do that in the signatures.

I think it's being massively overcomplicated when its not anymore worse than a signature and would create no issues.

If it needed reporting someone would report it.

It's not something that even needs monitoring by a mod in general it's a subtitle to a username that is locked for a year on changing itself. So the subtitle should be a feature. It wouldn't cause anyone any issues realistically.

It's not something I need explaining really.

I don't agree with the explanation and have my own view about it... so that's where I think I'm being misinterpreted or something here over something so simple.

😮‍💨

Indeed, and some already have.

No issues? Right.

You don't see "Destroyer of Liberals", "All Libs are Cucks", "So-and-so sucks dick", "So-and-so's an Alt"... as potentially creating drama?

This is the point I tried to make. The freer environment here sees members expecting a greater degree of tolerance for that kind of stuff, but only in OTC, hence my spillover comment 'cause classifications follow you wherever you go.

If it needed reporting someone would report it.
Oh joy. More reports. Great!

The only reason I responded is 'cause your conspiracy-theory / nepotism postulate was OTT and uncalled-for:

I have some theories.

IMHO you'd have a different opinion if you had to keep up and deal with the "everyday" ad-hom and other shenanigans that result from the degree of freedom here.

I'm done with this brudda. We'll have to agree to disagree by the sound of it.

... and FWIMBW the Kemper forum is Xenforo and members cannot alter their default / automatic assignments. :dunno:
