Bring Back The DSL?

Perhaps a new and improved DSL series. Same sound but some common problems fixed. Maybe a new 50w EL34 DSL combo too. The JCM2000 series was successful for a long time. Why stop a good thing? Anyone else think they should start reproducing the DSL series?
 
I don't know. The DSL's are great amps but there are a lot of them out there still to be had.
 
I think they should take the depth and bottom of the DSL, Make it slightly less compressed, and add it to the JVM. :D
 
I have owned about 3 different DSL amps now and I do like them and think they sound good. Personally I would like to see Marshall come out with a amp like this but eq's not to be shared. That would really cool. Also freaking up the build quality. I've never had a problem with the ones I've had just sucks that the pots are pcb mounted and little plastic pots. It is like a little toy.

Only in limited runs. There are 3 amps I think Marshall should never stop producing in their main line: JCM 800, Plexi, and DSL.

This is what they should have done about 25 years ago with a Jose instead of waiting until the whole hot rodded MArshall scene was fading and then releasing...the JCM 900... :thumbsdown:
 
The new MA series are pretty similar feature wise to the DSLs, I don't see them bringing back the DSLs with the MA series out there.

I would like Marshall to reissue the Silver jubilee, but I don't think that will ever happen.
 
Yes, great amps.
But they should give them a little tweek as channel 1 and 2 has such a different bass responce for a start.
 
I personally think the depth option is kind of cool. I have it on my TSL 60 and it's ok. I don't know why people don't like it.
 
SgtThump had a DSL and I still tell him it was one of the best live tones I've heard (he doesn't believe me), I think he had a greenback cab and an LP.
 
didn't they make a chinese JCM 2000 in 2008?
I think they should make some simple non-processed amps, like the old ones, but with a new voicing
the vintage modern had an awesome design, but a bit overkill: high gain plexi with extra tube, lot of switching, JTM45 power amp, PPIMV, digital reverb, loop...
a more simple version of it in a plexi headshell would be more appealing
if they did some revisions to improve the old 2203 and 1959 designs, it wouldn't have to spend on modding
a few subtle tweaks could make then fatter, more gainy, less bright and noisy and much more versatile

Or you could add a boost/OD pedal to taste and get the same results as a mod for much less $$$ :thumbsup:
