ahhh that EJ and Code's guitar looks good :D
I've been an LP humbucker type of guy all my life but I can't decide whether to switch to singles or keep it hss. I'm borrowing a friend's tele right now with single neck and bridge and it sounds very fat. Maybe I'll just get a 3 single coil model and put very hot single pups in?
:dunno:

Teles always sound fatter than strats, imo, so don't judge your single coil experience with a tele.
I'd say get a tele and a strat :)
Yup, test drive any strat to be sure it's as fat as you're looking for. Tele's are deceptive...they can run fat or thin depending on how you set those knobs.

You might also consider a G&L Legacy or S-500, very solid guitars that are steals used. The difference is the pickups (I think the S-500 is hotter).

here are a couple of mine

Here are my 3. The one on the left is a MIM standard, other 2 are MIA standards. I am thinking of selling the one in the middle....

Here's my Road Worn 60's Strat. I bought it from "projectx102" here on the forum. Here are the mods he made to the guitar:

I set it up with the Carl Verheyen technique for keeping the trem in tune when using the bar and it works awesome. The hot rodding that I did was route the bridge pickup route larger for a humbucker which is a Suhr Aldrich and I swapped the middle and neck pickups out for Fralin Blues Specials. I also added a Callaham cold rolled steel trem block which made a huge difference in tone and sustain in this one. I also added a 500k CTS pot in the volume position. I left the tones stock with the 250k pots and I feel the combination is perfect as I thought the Blues Specials were a little dark with the 250k volume pot.

:)

Love that guitar

This started it's life as a Black 1996 Strat Plus with Lace Sensors. Went thru about 1000000 pickup changes.

The only thing that's original on this thing are the neck and the strap buttons.

15 years later: New nut, new tuners, new string trees, new pickups, new electronics, new pickguard, new knobs, and as of late, new sunburst Warmoth hardtail body and new bridge.

Looks nice! What kind of pickups are you using??

Dimarzio VV Blues in the neck/middle and a Duncan CS '78 in the bridge. Sooooo many killer tones reside within this axe

Ok.... it's not a real '57.... Ok.... it's not really a Fender Strat....... Ok.... that headstck logo, while identical to a '57 is a repro...

It's my Nash '57 relic... :D
