Don't take my comments the wrong way. I mean no disrespect. The 750XL's are really, really nice guitars. So are Lexus cars. That's what I would equate them with. San Dimas Charvels were hand built in tiny production numbers by skilled guitar builders. Like Ferrari. If you have played a decent early San Dimas guitar once production shifted to Japan they just don't feel the same. Not even remotely. Kind of like when Sammy Hagar joined Van Halen. They used the same name. They were still really good, it's just that the old timers were like "don't call it Van Halen".

Here are mine:

The Kramer is a Pacer Imperial (USA made) that I bought back around 1990. Replaced the broken stock neck with a ESP Lynch replacement. Flip-flop pink!!

The Charvel is a San Dimas II Reissue (USA made), from around 1995. Koa wood body, Birdseye Maple neck. Best guitar I've ever played!

i have the same SD II Reissue from 1995, love that guitar!

Yeah, I do understand what your are saying I have played a few friends San Dimas Charvels and they are totally amazing! I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure the 750xl's were made in the Japanese custom shop by hand and were discontinued after only a year of production due to them costing too much to continue making them, or at least that's what I've been told. All the back stories aside (and without trying start any shit) I would put my 750xl up against any of the San Dimas guitars any day...but that's my preferance whereas I know some of you that prefer the SD Charvels would probably laugh in my face about that.
