We really just need the Amps forum

I honestly just thought about having a single "Rig-Talk" forum that combines guitar, effects, and amps. I know the guitars and effects don't get used too much.

Chris

Yup...I concur.

What do you guys think of this idea? Please chime in.

Heck, if you guys are planning on cleaning house, I think you should combine guitar, effects, and amps into a single forum! I always visit the Amps forum and to me, there is minimal traffic in the other two. To add to this comment: if I'm inclined to ask a question about a pedal or guitar pickup, I'm more apt to ask here in the Amp forum, because a.) I know I'll get more responses and b.) the people with the most knowledge and most "powerful" opinions usually only post in the Amp forum.

Single amps/guitars/effects forum sounds like a killer idea to me. I think you can probably roll all of the spam into one forum too (but then again, I'm not a big spammer/spammee).

Didn't know there was any other forums but the amp forum :aww:

Looks good to me.

I always tried to remember to post Guitars and FX stuff in the other forums...and usually forgot..but since no-one ever seems to go there..best place to get an answer = Amps

It wouldn't hurt to combine the discussion forums in to one but I prefer separate forums 'For Sale' ... and anyone can grab your attention by SPAM'ing the Amp forum anyway ;)

I was thinking this since I got here. Glad to see it done

Keep the vender forums of course as they create extra traffic and just amps/ general discussion sounds good.

Oh yeah, this doesn't affect the manufacturer's forums AT ALL. They are family!

I know he does not read boards but I am wondering how Lee Garver would feel about a GMW board?

With Lee's "straight to the point" approach, I'm guessing it may not go over too well. Many people don't like that approach and quite frankly, it doesn't really go over well in text. Plus, if he doesn't use the forums it would likely be a pain in the neck and a waste of time to him. Just a guess of course.

Your guess summed up my thoughts as well after I posted that passing thought :D Would be cool but agreed it would wind up being a pain.

It happened.....................

Yep... just got done with the consolidations. I like it much better!

As a side note, it seems to have sped the board up a bit too, probably because there are less tables in the database now.

Why have the manufacturers split up into different forums? There are only 148 Cameron threads and 38 Gutierrez threads and 923 Diezel threads and 85 HomeBrew threads. Seems like they should be grouped into one instead of individuals.

I definitely see where you're coming from because there's not that much traffic in them, but that would cause extra "noise" and make it more difficult for the MFG's to deal with new posts and easier for them to miss support questions.

Lee already has a board at another site...

Problem solved! I love it when a plan comes through.

Hey,
Can you unsticky those two threads at the top of the Rig-Talk forum?
