I thought some of you would dig this. Some of you might have heard this already on the Sneap forum, but I thought I would post it here.

http://www.exivious.net/

The song will play when the page opens.

I have been following these guys for a minute because of the Cynic relation. The guitar player is actually in Cynic now. Amazing Axe-Fx tone if you ask me! Both him and Paul from Cynic are using the Axe-Fx.

About the new Exivious song, it's mostly Axe-Fx. Stolen from the sneap forum, from guitarist Tymon:

"Thank you guys so much! Really cool to read all the positive stuff!

utarefson: We're a new band, no one knows us yet, so 1000 seemed like a good start. Besides, the packaging is also pretty special and we just want to do a 1000 of these. When it sells well we'll eventually put a normal digipack version out.

Metalhead28: Couldn't have hoped for a better response, thanks! As for the ordering, we don't accept pre orders yet, but we will asap.

slashvanyoung: Cynic comparisons, if you know the old Exivious demo stuff I think you'd know we're used to the comparison haha

beyond dead: Cool experience, trippy

gear rundown

guitars: Steinberger GM-4S with EMG pickups (SA SA 85) and a Schecter C7 with EMG pickups (whatever the 7 string version of the 89 is called I think)

amp/cab: 99% Fractal Audio Axe-FX. The main distortion sound is this Bogner Ecstacy patch with 2 Bogner V30 impulses. A real rock n roll sound if you play it with a Les Paul or something, but somehow it works really well in context of our stuff.

There's also some fretless guitars, weird stomp boxes, ebow, VG-88 and whatever we came across.

bass: Carvin with active pickups through EBS Fafner preamp DI out.

drums: Stef's usual Tama kit but with a smaller setup then usual, only 2 toms. I can't remember exactly what mics I used, I can look it up on pics if needed. We used 3 pairs of room mics, used those a lot in the mix to get this open fusiony sound. Was quite a challenge to give them the punch they needed with all the room sound going. No triggers, no tricks, just pure drums."

"The clean swells are Axe-FX but layered with a synth pad sound."

I REALLY want an Axe-Fx now...

+1. Highly recommend an Axe-Fx. It has far exceeded my expectations (and abilities as well). All my old gear is up for sale / sold and my amp/tone/effects GAS is finally gone (for the first time ever, I think. Going on 3 months of Ultra ownership, no GAS (except instuments))

Nice! I don't think my amps will be going anywhere, but I still want one of these BAD!

Got any clips?

That sounds really good. And yes, I want an Axe-Fx BAD TOO!!  I've been trying to decide what I want to sell. :scared: :aww:

Wow, I really dig that tune. I'm not all about the typical pentatonic crap that I always play. I like this type of "outside the box" stuff. Just not that out-of-tune crap from that guy I posted about last week.

Chris

Yea it was slightly better to me too than the Kaiser creativity ... like a million times.. . If you want to hear some other music that's a million times more creative, listen to Bulb's stuff that he's posting here (also Periphery) great stuff..

Not yet!
Whole new system (Ultra + FRFR) and not much time to work with it.

damn good music, regardless of the guitar tone (which I do like as well)

Ahhh gotcha...

I'd love to get one and experiment with setups.

It sounds like Cynic because Tymon from Cynic is the guitarist and Robin Zielhorst, who is also from Cynic, is the bassist.

Wow......wow. Really really solid tones, playing, and production. I dig.

Hey, I remember that Tymon dude, he used to post at a forum I used to frequent. Sick player. This is some great stuff, too.

That is BADASS

On a side note...I am not one of those people who feels the need to convert others to my way of thinking when it comes to gear, but I have to say that the Axe FX has completely changed how I think about "amps". I don't think in terms of either/or, but rather how many options this box opens up for me! I really can't ever see me not owning an AXE. It is just THAT good

Yeah he is.
He posts on sevenstring.org too

Man, they sound almost exactly like Cynic. Tone is pretty good for that style of music, but I'd never use it.
