Awesome, thanks for sharing!

One of my biggest influences!

Great stuff. I wish they'd come to Florida.

How was the singer? He sounds great on the album, but some of the live clips I've seen have been underwhelming, especially on the Dio material.

I am not too much into the material he did after DIO (Last in Line is cool though), but he is an amazingly great player and riff master. Not in the shredder kind of sense (which isnt shabby as well). But his phrasing, tone, song writing, ... The whole DIO line up was a match made in heaven (or hell ;-). And every single one of them had a strong own characteristic way of playing and tone. And they (Vinnie and Vivian) still have it there. Hope they do new material soon. As much as I liked their first Last in Line record, I think they can do even much better....

Awesome. Great tone and playing.
He definitely has something special. A percussive style all his own. Wasn't trying to play like everyone else during that era.
Perfectly said. Sometimes less is more, Viv can shred but he was never in a race like most guys.

Good stuff, thanks for posting!

the second video of Stand up and shout is one of my favorite songs. he definitely kills it.

Does anyone know the details of his guitar. I understand it's the one from HD and LIL, but don't know much about it.

actually i see his face first time.
he looks like a plumber next door, not a rock star. (just appearance)

Thanks for all the kind words fellas...figured you'd dig seeing them.

The singer was really good. To be honest I was so blown away that I was standing 5 feet from Vivian Campbell and filming him like he was in my living room that I really only concentrated on Viv once it started. I don't ever remember thinking the vocals were weak...sounded amazing but all my focus was on filming. I probably pissed off some peeps around me holding up the phone the whole time (which I NEVER normally do at a show) but I already had about 6 Jack and gingers so I didn't give a fuck!
Vinny Appice is the only other original member and he was on point for sure...did a great drum solo.

One of my most memorable concerts...and I've seen a ton in my 50 years...Viv's Dio work is among my favorites and I still love playing and learning those songs even today.
Felt really lucky to be so close to one of my hero's tearing it up and obviously having such a great time doing it

BTW...there were a couple beers and some shots on the drum riser when the show started....half way through the show Viv picked em up and did two shots...place went nuts...was awesome!

Vivian is just killing it. No disrespect to Phil Collen, but Viv is so much better IMO. Too bad he does not get more soloing opportunities in Def Leppard.
Absolutely man. Viv just oozes feel and tone. He can turn on the speed when he wants but really for me as a player, there is nothing appealing about Collen's playing or tone. But Viv's had a nice paycheck for two decades playing second guitar so can't blame him. And now he's gotten to cut loose with Thin Lizzy several years back and is getting back to his roots with his Dio music. Good for Viv. One of my all time favs.

Great video's. Tone is killing, band sounds fantastic. Love the fact he's playing his original LP. Glad they continued on after Jimmy passed to still represent this music better than anyone else.

Vivian has always been one of my favorite players. First two Dio albums are must have's IMO as a guitarist. And even though his third album with Dio isn't as good...I'd still recommend it to anyone that is a fan of Vivian.

One thing I do recommend is Vivian's first album with the Riverdogs. Really in terms of technicality, fluidness...it's probably Viv's high water mark as an all around player. No it doesn't have that Gary Moore' ish fire of that Vivian displayed on the first Dio albums but there is really some fine playing.

Glad one of my all time favorites is still throwing down, considering his past health issue's...great to see someone that influenced me so much having fun and getting the respect as a player he deserves.

The Riverdogs just released a new album called "California". It is available now and definitely worth checking out. Rob Lamothe, Nick Brophy and Marc D are all with Viv on that album

Purchased; thanks for the tip. If it's half as good as the first album, it'll be well worth it.

To the O.P. Thanks for sharing! that is awesome! Hope to see them sometime!

Might as well post the last 4 classics I recorded

Stand up and shout

Holy Diver solo

Last in line solo

Rainbow in the dark solo

That's all of them
