Sig-X vs. D120

I haven't tried my amp with P50's. But it sounds really good with my front loaded Hellatone 60's.

I'm a bit tired of the Mark V graphic EQ thing. It can get as big as the D freq wise, but it's way more compressed and pinched. Plus when you roll back, it sounds like you rolled on the tones control. It just gets murky and foggy. The D stays crisp.

Spent time with both. Both great! I guess it just depends on the application and amount of changing sounds, channel switching vs guitar volume knob.

Got another Sig:X coming to me today. This time it's in great shape, with a road case, and includes a FB slanted 4x12. Stoked.

I had a SigX years ago and now I have a Pitbull CL100. My pitbull has the same vibe as the Deliverance amps.
I've been known to buy an amp only to flip it a few weeks later, but I've found my perfect match in the pitbull- I love it!
Its not as straight forward as a deliverance and doesn't have as many features as a SigX, but it blends enough features from both to make it a worthwhile investment.
In my amp search, initially i skipped the Pitbull classic and just looked at the CLX and UL, but in the end, the CL just had that magic I've always been looking for but haven't been able to find.
While I have other amps, I play my VHT 95% of the time and it has squashed any gas for other amps. BTW,I ended up flipping my SigX two weeks after I got it.

I have always wanted a D120 to go with my Sig X but after listening to Jerevil's clips again I don't think they sound different enough to need both. I know in the room they will sound and feel different but man those sound similar. I still kind of want one though :)

Me either. There'll be another Fryette in my stable but I wouldn't own both of those amps at the same time again. I think the D120 with an effects loop and my Rivera RockCrusher would just slay!

I would agree! I'm thinking a Pitbull would be my second Fryette one of these days. I have wanted one since I started playing guitar in the early ninties.

I'm gonna be looking on the fryette user forum. I'm sure there's old info there but I wanted to ask on here first.

Anyone own both of these? Some Fryette guys a while back had told me the Sig is basically a Deliverance with bells and whistles but is that 100% true?

Is there any different voicing? One more aggressive than the other?

Any sonic differences at all?

The Fryette forums stink. NO ACTION.

But on topic, it makes sense that a single channel purpose built amp would have the most vibrance and fidelity.

My D120H is so dynamic and beastly. When you lay into a chord, it gives it to you. When you back off on the attack, it stays glassy and clear which is something I really like.

^^^^ this. I was late to the Fryette line but still own a D120 and a UL. Both are great amps. Watt for Watt the D120 can't be beat for straight up balls to the wall tone.
