Is incredibly over rated. Just watched it on Max and if this is meant to be an amazing experience per the cinema release hoopla, I don’t know what the fuck people find to be bad anymore. It’s just incredibly OK and drags. Another movie that should have been a good 20-30 minutes shorter. I swear, movies from the 70-90’s just didn’t need this bloat to give a full experience. Even with all the, let’s get to know the folks pre-amble, I still had no investment in these people or cared what happened to them.
I cared more about the Frog Brothers in The Lost Boys than anyone in this movie.

I thought it was good. It was a fresh take on the genre, and mixed in some other themes to subvert expectations. If you go in blind, you think it's a period piece until it reveals itself midway through.

Compared to all the other slop Hollywood has been shitting out, anything even remotely well written passes as great. There were a lot of bad movies released this year, and that wasn't one of them.
