LOL, I said the same thing once or twice. As time goes by and your requirements change along with technology, well... you'll see.

Don't get me wrong, there was a time and there still are, that I only use a head and a 1x12 w/ a Dyna Comp, DD2, CE2 and a TU2 and that works great, BUT... PALES in comparison to the Big rig. Sometimes less is more but I have found that it's usually just less. Once you reach the top of Tone Mountain, settling for less is usually the outcome you'll try to avoid. (Then the rack starts to grow again...) :D

See I'm 18 and unlike alot of people this age, I'm really worried about morgages when I grow up, I know I'll probally have to have on but I really don't want to...

but

at the rate your going I could have a morgage just for my guitar gear...let alone drums, house and whatever else :o

Well my friend, You seem to have a very good head on your shoulders and time is on your side. Get your degree, make a good career for yourself and before you know it, you'll be able to do what you please too.

I started a long time ago!

Thanks Zachman

Nice timeline! :D I didn't start when I was that young but I'm playing catch up all the time :)

and nice head :) 100 ever made? wow

Zach, you are my hero :D

quick question..

the MKIII clip.. which speakers were used for that? and also where was the volume set?

I have a MKIII and i can never get it to sound like that LOL! To my ears, that tone you have there on the WS riff is the Sykes 1987 tone!

Look at his damn presence. It's cranked like no tomorrow. That's how he gets that tone. ;)

Celestion G12-H30's (3) Marshall 4X12's The sykes tone is so cool!! I am using a Simul 395 power amp for the wet signal, Master volume on the head was around 1.

When i have the presence anywhere near that level, its almost piercing. Makes me wonder more about the speakers Zach is using, im using a Marshall 4x12 with greenies!

actually on the clip the presence was on 4.

Crunch tone was with stock Gibson Les Paul Standard. Clean tone was with Tyler w/ Kinman '56's I think.

Ralph has urged me to try these for a long while, but i ended up getting a great deal on a Marshall 4x12 with 25w greenbacks. I would love to try the H30s with my MKIII though!

What were your settings? My amp on 4 (Presence) sounds nothing like that. Maybe it's because I use V30s. It almost sounded like your graphic EQ had less bass on the 80 and had the 2200 slider bumped up quite a bit. Sounds nothing like the pattern you showed in that picture.

First off mine is a 'Coliseum' MKIII I am running 4 6L6's and 2 EL34's (The amp does not sound like this without the EL34's).

Here is a pic of the settings.

I know it's a Coli. Mark III. Still surprised it is getting that kind of tone. Sounds good though. :)

My bad, I just didn't want to leave anyone the wrong impression. The output traansformer is definately different and the amp sounds way different with ALL 6L6's than being run this way, w/ the EL34's in the center slots. On the normal MKIII it's the end slots that the Simul-Class runs the EL34's, right ? Any way, on the Coliseum it's in the center slots.

That clip was done in my living room through a Roland VS880 with mics 57's, on pillows just thrown in front of the cabs. Middle Dry L/R wet ehh, you know the rest of this stuff.

Yeah, outer slots on a normal Simul. I use the EL34/6L6 mix in my III, but when I get my IV, I'm gonna run all 6L6s to try to make it as smooth and round as possible.
