Were those videos done with a camera mic or was it multitracked? I haven't heard the amps in person but I'd have to agree that the sound in those videos aren't something that would get me to consider the amps.

I don't know about the videos. But every single person there (8 or 10?) agreed that this Landry amp smoked. It was possibly the nicest amp I've ever heard for the types of tones I like. It was like a VHT Deliverance with the big whopping "punch you in the gut" stuff, but sounded better to me.

There's a decent chance my "home recording rig" plans will go on hold for a bit... I want one of these amps.

I certainly don't doubt the amps are kickin' but in my opinion the sound the videos are, well, blech. No offense is meant to the builder, and the concept of an "amp concert" is very cool, but I wouldn't use the vids to sell the amps.

Now that my naysaying is done, you know that my D60/D412 rig has been my top setup for a couple years now, so don't you go tellin' me that this thing is even close to the D60 because I'm not in the mood for G.A.S.!

Too bad there wasn't a VHT Deliverance there to compare. But it certainly made every other amp there sound small. I can't believe how bad I want one of these heads.

Yep, that's what the Deliverance usually does with other amps, it makes them sound "small." The beauty of it is, the amp is well balanced and it's not like it's making everything sound small because it's got an obscene bottom end.

When you buy the amp, send it to me and I'll compare it with my D60 and send it back as soon as I'm "finished" with it.

It is alot of money for any amp, IMO. But I guess it's "fair" when compared to other PTP amps with the same features.

Let's just say that if it were priced like a Sig:X, I would have one today.....

Bill hates those youtube clips. He's made some modifications to the amp since those clips were made that really improved the tone even though it sounded great to begin with. I believe those clips were a camcorder in a gymnasium type of room. This amp really needs to be hear in person to really understand how good it sounds. We really put every amp through it's paces but kept coming back to the Landry. I could have just sat back and listened to Bill play all day. I've never heard anyone nail Alex Lifeson the way Bill does. It's crazy how good his ear is for detail. The cool thing is that he just wanted to come to check out the other amps like the rest of us. He's not a hard sell guy at all. Not even a soft sell guy, LOL! He built an amp for himself that addressed everything he couldn't get out of the amps that he was touring with. The result is just spectacular. He'd nail the VH tone, then rush, then boston, then Rat, then aerosmith, etc. Crazy good!
