I'd like to know how some of you guys are slaving this amp. Are there any detailed instructions available??
Thanks guys

I tried it just once very briefly.......was going to slave into a Power Block. Jeff told me to be very careful. I tried it for a few seconds and has some noises and such, so I shut it down.

Maybe if you have a better power amp, it would work better.

I'd have Jeff or Bruce help you out man.

BTW Loving the 2nd degrees in my LP.......so do my buddy's!! They keep trying to borrow it..........

Ah, I bet its hard to get that guitar back  Very honored you enjoy them  I was going to Slave it through my Doug Hoffman 100h PTP which is basically a Super bass/Plexi Mix head. Does slaving the MOD require a Load ?? I didn't see any detailed instructions in the manual. I'm using the Second Degree in a 76' custom and its flawless. Such a huge clear pickup with great character. I have some new models coming out early next yr which I've been working on for about 6yrs- Finally the A2 versions

Wow, i just did a search and there is nothing here??

Aw, Thanks so much Brother Jason!!. Yes, the MOD50 owns me now...Yes, I really think there should be some detailed instructions for this option. I spoke with Eric W yesterday and got some info also. I believe you can leave the amp on standby and run into another using only the preamp of the mod. Eric, chime in and get this thread going- SOMEBoDY!!

What I've done in the past....if you just want to use the preamp tones of an amp....is to yank out the power tubes of the amp, and just run the signal out to another amp, power amp, etc.

In the past I had a friend who LOVED the Marshall 30th anniversary's preamp section, but the power section was kinda lacking compared to the JCM800 heads w/ 6550s he had. So, we took the combo head chassis, removed it from the headshell, and racked it up. Yanked out the power tubes, and ran the preamp out of the 30th anniversary into a stereo EFX Processor (MPXG2), and ran the stereo outs of the MPXG2 into 2 JCM800 half stacks. So, that allowed us to use the 30th's preamp into another amps' power section.

On the Mod50, if all I wanted to do is use it as a preamp for recording..I"d yank the power tubes and slave it onto another power amp.

If you are wanting to use both...then leave the tubes in...and slave it to another power section. Meaning...you would have the Mod50 connected to Cabinet A through one of hte speaker outs...and run the slave out to another amp's effects loop return or a power amp's input. That second amp or power amp would be connected to a second load, ie cabinet B.
