Yeah you be honest, I never dug any of the JC stuff. Yes modding can make a huge difference but for me, that pear ain’t worth the dive.

I got invited to a private club ounce...dancers were getting inspected up close buy old guys with flashlights and frothing mouths. One of the dancers also sucked up a stack of quarters off a beer bottle and spit out the change in the old guys hands too. Mattresses on the floor in rooms upstairs...real classy place it was. I drank my beer (from a bottle thank god) & got out of there pretty quick...was afraid of catching a disease just being there

I dont think Jet city or soldano ever intend for the JCA amps to compete with the soldano amps. They were intended to be a beginner type amp, budget friendly amp. When I was 14-18, an amp that can get 70-80% of a soldano tone, for 319.00 shipped would have been an absolute godsend. I bought a jca 50 a few years just to use at practice and a throw around leave it where I want amp. Mod it sometime just to have fun. They may not sound exactly like a soldano, but they're 1000% closer than the crate/peavey shit that was all you could find for a budget in the 80s and 90s. .
