The stoner rock dudes love the Verellen amps. I have seen a few bands roll through Columbus with them and they are definitely killer sludge/stoner/rock machines.
 
I'm not into the stoner sludge stuff nor am I a bassist so I'm not really digging that amp. :confused:

Their Skyhammer guitar amp sounds better to my ears though.

 
I've seen bands live that use his stuff and they sound crushing. Very well made product, lots of custom stuff, excellent customer service and he is a really cool dude. I don't normally like fuzz pedals but his Big Spider fuzz is just god damn brutal! Love it. Also worth mentioning is that his band, Helms Alee is incredibly fucking cool.
 
my friend just got one.

First, the guy said he would be e mailing tracking "at the end of the week" for 5 weeks.

Finally gets here, go to record that weekend. One of the boards is bad.

Sounded great for 20 minutes.

Intrigued to say the least.
I'm kinda into shoe gazer stoner rock so maybe these'll deliver.

Hmmmm...

Bass amp is bad ass - period.

The guitar amp side of things? A little unimpressed, but when the high-gain portion got kicked in, there was definitely some rubbery bouncy goodness in there that I like. Clips suck for conveying tone - really would wanna be in the room to judge - so I'll have to say "intrigued" with the high-gain stuff, the bass stuff, but everything else...meh.

Need better sound sources for sure.

By the way, LOVE the sticky notes on the door frame. Total "organized stoner" material there :lol: :LOL:

Been here the whole time. I just rarely post in the non gear related threads and never in the drama threads(seems to be plenty of them). I'll save my two cents for something else :D
These amps are a different kind of animal than what is common around here. I don't think you'll ever hear Lay it down on a Verellen. :lol: :LOL: They do Lay Down the power though. Big loud power. I played a Skyhammer and thought it was pretty cool. Not the tone for me and what I play most of the time though. Where they really shine is in a live band mix. They just kill live with a heavy(not metal) band. Maybe not so much in an apartment or basement playing at "tv" volumes rocking out some Dokken. :lol: :LOL:
