Nothing fancy here. Not a demo. Just having fun :D

If you don't like 'In Room' clips and drop tuning this is not for you. I recently got a Suhr Koko Boost from Maddnotez and I also got a Zoom Q2n4K in room recorder deal.

Nice dual amp rig! Covers a lot of ground and can also vaporize small animals if needed..

The Koko has been my #1 boost for a very long time. It never leaves my board. I saw that you use the clean boost side. I have used it from time to time but prefer the mid boost with the clean boost knob at 9:00. Any higher than that and the mid boost becomes too much for me.

I have read that the left toggle spot is Jose'ish which works for me on some amps but I usually leave it to the right.

Those two compliment each other really well. That's the kind of combined tone thing I'm looking to achieve with my Landry.
Oh and I dig InTheRoom clips!

Nice rig Daren! Love that tolex scheme on the Splawn!

I liked the blend of the two. I've had some amps in the past that surely would have been epic pairings, but unfortunately never tried it.

so good together :)
I used to love blending my recto with my 5150, the high /low mid blend sounded huge
Thanks. Not sure how I ever made it before without an ABY box. I did have some ground loop issues but I have that sorted now.

Yeah, that was recorded pretty loud. About at my tolerance level. I forgot to turn on my dB level app but I'm sure it was pushing 100 dB. The Koko boost has taken me a bit to get used to. It does have a lot of tonal variance. So far, I've found the Mid boost side to add way too much mids to an already middy set up :D Also, I'm still playing with the Freq switch. If I read this right, Left = straight mids (vs lower or upper)?

Keeping the switch to the right works better for me probably because I tend to dial in my amps a little bit bright. Left works great on a darker amp.

Keep in mind that when using the mid boost side that the clean boost level is still feeding it. Try using the mid boost side with the clean boost level on zero and then maxed. You will hear the push that raising the clean level gives it. For me, the clean level stays at 9:00. Any more than that gets too bassy.

Hey thanks for that. And your chops deserve it

2 Perfect amps to combine together for a wall of sound high gain tone!!! Good stuff man!

Hey, this gives me an idea for a video.....
Glad I could inspire you in some way

But yeah - the marshally/recto'ish combo is a favorite and fun as hell.

Thanks a lot Mike. That means a lot  Wish your Splawn experience could have been a better one.

Me too because like I've said before, both were beautiful sounding/feeling amps. Tight, aggressive as hell, and very open/uncompressed. They didn't look near as cool as your red & black though ;)

^ When I first started down this path about 10 years ago, a buddy of mine kept buying these amps with racing stripes. I thought it was the coolest thing. This is before I had even heard of Splawn. I was pretty sure I wanted a Marshall but everyone kept saying don't buy a new one. Only the old ones are good. I didn't know enough about amps to buying used ones and I was too naïve and hard headed that I 'had' to have a brand new amp. And unlike most people, I was pretty burned out on the standard Marshall headshell look. Just something out it was so cliché I guess. Fast forward a bit and a Quick Rod popped up on my local Craigslist. I knew MatrixClaw liked is Nitro and I was reading about others good experiences. But, it was in a standard plexi style headshell. So fast forward again. DawnofaDream (Nick) had this stripped headshell up for trade. He was looking for a Plexi box so we traded. Once that happened, I had to have a matching cab so I contacted Scott as I wanted to try one of his cabs anyway. Now it is an amp I will keep for life.
