I sincerely hope I haven't given anyone the impression that I'm the sort who would falsify damage like this. That honestly kills me, especially coming from Mark of whom I've been a huge fan of for years now from time over at the Metro forum.
Anyway, the damage is for sure from drop shock inside the headshell as the chassis buckled UP from the weight of the trannys - meaning it was flipped onto its back. This also accounts for the EL34 being smashed as it was jammed into the transformer.
I can't think of a way to drop this thing outside of the headshell, deforming the chassis in the process, while still maintaining the integrity of the mounting points.
The amp is special, and I bought it for sentimental reasons...I owned a real '68 not far from 12301. I sold it in '90 while supporting my record and have always regretted that.
Again, I am sorry I might have given anyone the idea I would fake damage to this amp. It is against everything I believe and stand for.
Sincerely,
Ron

What I am thinking, that amp had some velocity behind it to create that messThey need more indoor video cameras imo to catch this crap.
Sorry about the amp Steve.
UPS better pay to have it repaired. They destroyed it, it was very well packed in the original packaging materials + more and it was insured by them for the full purchase amount...mentoneman":1rmywtcg said:so what happens to the amp now?
it works but is damaged...does someone pay to have it repaired?

Yes they do ... they are worried about moving bulk & do not worry if a few get damaged on the way. Around the holidays & other volume periods it happens even more as they try to keep up. There is no reason to think your packages are being moved around with care with the volume they move.rlord1974":27efhx5s said:They think this is acceptable?!![]()
