After all Mike Soldano built his SLO after dispointment with a Mark II he bought. From what i've heard the Mark IIC+ is very similar in the pre-amp to a SLO...
Would still take a SLO over the Mark III though![]()

Totally different feel and tones, in my experience between an SLO and a Boogie MK.

I can get the LEAD channel of my Sig X close to Mark sound. It is the closest I have heard. The midrange is a bit different . But this is also true of the different Mark amps. The Fryette attack is a bit faster, has more dynamic's and feel is different. But the sound can get in that family of sounds.
I have owned or played on plenty every other amp mentioned in this thread so far....
