still on the fence about the sailboat, as I considered the pros/cons....
I may go next year to get bareboat certified, that will let me rent/charter sailboats up to 50' in most of the world vs buying, marina fees and maintaining my own sailboat. I'll be lucky if I get 10-12 years before my physical strength / stamina will make it more difficult to solo sail. Not enough time to amortize and justify the costs for the sailboats I'd want.
doing motorcycles for now; much less cost vs a sailboat.
I have two bikes, older than 20 years, and an old sports car. all lin and combined, these are less expensive so far than even buying a sailboat; before any repairs, insurance, marina fees, etc.,
We prefer catamaran's as my wife doesnt' do as well with waves. We will never own one though. We are more cabin/river people. Have you considered buying one and renting it out/chartering to recoup costs - or is that another money pit in upkeep and managing customer expectations/complaints?
