The clean channel is designed for high headroom cleans, it will not go to ac/dc type crunch but will when digging in get texas blues broken up tones. Cleans are way above average for a switcher, IMO may even have the CAE-100 cleans beat.

Ed's amp was not modded... It had replacement transformers and caps - that's it. If you want to call that a mod - then yes. For VH II he used a PPIMV in the amp, then put it back to stock.

His amp was not 100% stock SL circuit. Values were changed. nothing to do with gain, just filtering.

Did I see his amp? NO.

I do trust the guy I was with, had no reason to tell tales and the guy was there as more than a customer.

Great day indeed, Scotty. You're far too kind; I need to get my chops back together. I got all the drum heads I needed as well. Thanks for the hospitality, and the laughs, and dinner ;)

On that note, that Jose mod sounded killer, but the owner seemed equally blown away by the Cali ;) That is simply a testament to Mike's work. If you buy a Fortin, you're getting your money's worth. Since day one, I had high hopes for his amplifiers, and I have yet to be let down

There's about a handful component changes inside the Jose. Like Scott said, the owner said he'd pop the hood; we didn't find the need to ask, and don't play on the bit about reverse psychology. All knobs on ten... he just SLID his hand across the fucking amp from left to right   I played through the amp, and something pretty amazing is going on. I wish I had the finesse of the owner, because he made that thing shine. If you're sloppy, you are going to sound really awful through that amp

I also played the production Natas today

No high gain amp stands next to the Natas for metal, all hype aside... holy shit.

Cool to have you over Greg, was messing with the lessons and it is making a lot of sense so thanks for that time!

Yeah your Cali is on another level from mine, right away you can tell that it is a new ground up super lead with added options. Incredible amp.

Great day to play hookie.

Reminds me of Lynn Halsey-Taylor's cleans, nice!

LMAO!

Sounds like fun, fellas. Can't wait to play the Natas again, especially with the new iron. Hopefully this summer...

It was a cool hang, his studio had killer shit in there and it was awesome to talk the business with him. He has a very cool small box tube head coming out that sounds awesome, very Marshall inspired.

Just tell me the dates

Scott and Greg, glad that you guys had a great time hanging with Joe.

I'll be in touch later this week on that follow up.
Cheers,
Mike
