WAYNE CHARVEL THAT IS!

Gat dayum, what did I just do, I probably shouldn't have bought it, but it was too much to resist

I mean getting a real San Dimas from the real Charvel was too irresistable

and the birds eye maple neck really sealed it for me.

Should be coming soon, just sent the guy the payment

I guess I'll have to play the stock pickups and get some more scratch for my BK pickups

Got it from a guy on TGP

dude that neck is awesome looking!
not a fan of the paint job but on an instrument of that quality I'd imagine I could live with a color I don't completely love.

congrats!

Sweet! Beautiful guitar.

Delving into the history of Charvel and their rise to the top is kind of a debatable subject because Wayne sold the company to Grover Jackson in 1978 and the first production Charvels weren't until 1981. Charvel became a world famous guitar company of the stars using Grover's vision and business plan.

I'm not saying Wayne isn't the man or that the Wayne guitar you just bought won't rule, but Charvel's success had very little if anything to do with Wayne Charvel except the name.

Come on now.... he said "real San Dimas" from the "real Charvel". He started it.  The Wayne guitars do kick ass. I've played them.

haha touche!

Wayne Charvel did start the company though and did start making guitars for EVH and others

and if I tried to get a Charvel with a birds eye maple neck... it'd cost

The Wayne guitars that I have played did not disappoint. Great guitars!! Congrats and enjoy.

thanks guys, really stoked for it

to be honest, I never thought I'd ever end up with a silver finished guitar, but for some reason it works well

It's funny that you should mention this because I just took my new Charvel to my tech to get setup and I also brought my Wayne guitar. The Wayne has 2 screwed up frets and I just sat around my house doing nothing, so I finally decided to get off my ass and do something about it. With thats said I really love both guitars LOL :D

Not to mention that Wayne's son, Michael, not Wayne himself, makes the guitars and they are made in Northern California, not San Dimas. There is no question that Grover Jackson is more responsible for the "Charvel San Dimas" phenomenon than Wayne Charvel...

All that said, that looks like a killer guitar - I've owned a couple, and while I played a number and found them hit or miss, the keepers were great guitars. Congrats!

How would you directly compare the Charvel and Wayne?
I find the necks to be considerably different. The Waynes I've played had thinner, flatter neck profiles...

I have to agree with Steve 100% about the Waynes being hit or miss especially on the older ones as I have little experiance playing on the new elf shoe models :hys:. My friend used to be a Wayne dealer and they were night and day different between guitars which was fine by me considering they really were hand built.
