So I played a Bogner Shiva the other night.........

Yeah, the funny resistor cable thing. I was discussing with the owner tweaks for it forth and back to make it fit his fx units :D

I'd like to try a newer Shiva someday. Apparently there is a very simple mod (like clipping one resistor) that BrentSP has documented on the Bogner forum that adds quite a bit of gain to the drive channel.

He thought it was weird too. I show up and he has a decent sized rack with pedal and an FX unit and other stuff...and a big Bradshaw type pedal board controller...YIKES!!!!! I stayed away from that thing

What was the idea behind making the effects loop so funky? I mean, instead of adding the resistors to the cables, can't you just add those same resistors to the input jacks? Shows you how little i know about this stuff.
I think Bogner couldn't figure out the loop thing at the time :D Or maybe there wasn't room for level controls....it's the best amp Bogner has to offer IMO though.

The first time I heard a Shiva outside of a music store was at the first HCAF ampfest that we had in Virginia a few years back. Through a Bogner 4x12. That amp cut like a mother!! People were playing a lot of amps, with a lot of volume, and the Shiva was the one that you could hear crystal clear all the way outside the building. It definitely had NO problems cutting through.

No idea, Chris.

I've suggested to add pots to he guy's Shiva (send/return volume) to make it flexible for many units, but Shiva owners seem to be pretty scary about DIY guys crappifying their booteeek stuff :D
