Id rather not have a side of Gay party videos with my rig talk to be honest. Actually I don't even find any humor is posting crap like that here...I think it's detrimental to this forum and to what it's about.

I come here for guitars. Amps, sick rigs...not some fruity dancing boys...
Sorry but that's the truth.

I agree with Reza but defended Don's right to his free speech and gave him a pretty wide berth here. He left the building on his own accord and took the sweet videos with him. I did not protest the departure. As I have always said he is welcome back as long as he kicks the volume down a bit.

I don't think anyone comes here for fruity dancing boys. I think the point is being missed by many here. Barzini didn't post these videos because he liked dudes or thought anyone else here did either. Not that he or most of us would even care if someone here had an alternative lifestyle. Who cares? This is our place to talk gear with anyone.

He posted these when we started ACTING like a bunch of "fruity dancing boys". When there was overblown, and what he considered overly fake, back-slapping "bro" posts. He posted these whenever anyone started swinging too hard from someone else's nuts or when the nut area on a forum "bro" got too crowded with multiple hangers on. Especially if that forum bro was digging the attention too much. He posted them when there was too much blind devotion to a particular player or to a particular brand of gear. He posted these when he got the feeling that he couldn't speak openly about any piece of gear under the sun here because people would come down on him. And his posts were a slap in the face to those of us who started taking things too seriously and forgetting how unimportant most of this stuff really was. He posted these when guys would say, "I only play such and such or I would never play that because only this works for me." He posted those when guys would give long, overblown, ridiculously descriptive reviews on gear yet not post a clip to help determine whether it was an opinion worth listening to.

Let's take this exact post and video. I don't think he really expected anyone to make it all the way through that video. He posted this video as a sardonic slap in the face to the way TONS of people are acting right now with the release of the Axe II. I got that after 3 seconds of seeing his clip and I laughed because with less than a sentence and three seconds of video his point could not have been anymore crystal clear. Of course I did watch the video through another 23 times to make sure I wasn't mistaken. ;) If anyone thinks that the Axe II thing hasn't turned into one of the most overly dramatic new gear releases in history, and perfectly normal grown men acting like crazed women fighting over Bon Jovi's scarf at the Meadowlands in 1986, well then the comparing of the Axe lunatics with the dancing boys might not be that funny.

Why was Barzini so sarcastic?

"The appeal of sarcasm is that it is concise. In a few words you can sum up a complex negative reaction, often with cultural references as shorthand. Without such shortcuts we'd be all day explaining things to one another."

"Such superior social intelligence may be behind her conclusion that those who can hang with sarcasm are always the most interesting conversation partners at a party."

I am not singling out Reza for his post. I definitely see where the guys who don't like Barzini's posts are coming from, but this last sentence also may explain why so many here really miss him. He was one of the most interesting guys here. And don't think he never tore into me, because he did a few times. And he was right on in a "getting a little too big for your britches there kid?" sort of way. And he was right, and I laughed because I freaking love sarcasm even when used against me. Heck, I love it if someone smokes me with a good one.

I agree, he did what he did to illustrate how ridiculous gear forums can get at times.

When you're up to your eyeballs drinking the kool aid, sometimes you can't see the forest from the trees.

When people take themselves or the forum so seriously that they just see what he did purely on the surface and didn't get it, that's exactly why he was doing it!

Agreed to all with the exception to what I accented; Barzini had ZERO problems speaking his mind and voicing his opinion.

That said, Its my humble opinion that this whoie outcry at Barzini leaving has become as dramatic as the fruity dancing boy vid and the AxeFx II release and Im pretty sure that Joey would agree with me...

If Barzini didn't dig what was going on and he posted these gay videos because he didn't have the balls to call us gay or was just trying to be sly about it. Then that's pretty weak no? Lets be real. Is homophobia cool around here? Brad should have asked him instead of turning it down a notch, to just grow instead.

Incorrect, my friend.

Notwithstanding the validity of the points raised by ALL above, I DO NOT see how posting that video on YouTube with ZERO context provided around it (sure, there is context when watched through RT knowing the backstory to it all) has any relevance or connection to the Axe FX II launch.

If someone just happened to come across that video while surfing on YouTube, what would they think? Probably that the individual that posted it just liked watching those guys dance. Again, no context in the YouTube posting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ8JVXft2I0

One man amongst many would likely not be pleased with the conclusion many men would arrive at in stumbling across that video.....

No disrespect to anyone intended. I'm just sayin'.....

Incorrect, my friend.

Im just calling it as I see it Curt, maybe he wasnt overt about it but speaking for myself, it was pretty to easy to read between the lines and see what he meant. Maybe his delivery wasnt obvious to some but it seemed pretty clear to me.. Like you , Ive spoken with Joey and I got him ( at least Id like to think that I do)...

Im not here trying to make a big deal out of anything and certainly not here to shit on your, Joey's or anyone elses shoes. Im just not a fan of things getting overblown, whatever they may be...
