At this point (at least, as far as I can tell), he is really only going nuts in this thread so who honestly gives a shit? Sure, i have read through it hoping it would have been more entertaining than it has actually been, but I don`t really think it warrants banning/moving/etc... If the craziness breaks out of this thread and begins to degrade the forum (as in the case with Carla) then it would be time to consider doing something about it. All IMO obviously.

If it was my forum, yeah, I would. There are certain people, Carl and Fab being two shining examples, that have clearly displayed over the course of YEARS, that they're nothing but a waste of space. Attempting to have any kind of real discussion with them is a waste of time becase, as Kage once pointed out, they are batshit crazy. Looney Toons. Cuckoo. It's like you're having a party at your house. Everybody is having a good time, doing whatever. But there's one dude who just sits in the corner eating one of your houseplants. No, they're not really doing any real damage to anything significant....but WTF? Why? Would you let that person stay?

You mention TGP...It's not their rules that make them what they are. The character of their forum is a product of the people that frequent it. It's boring and elitist sometimes because it has more than its share of boring and elitist people. Their rules simply ensure that you can browse their forums without coming across nutbags like this. Whether or not you like the rest of the content is a separate issue.

What can I say, I prefer a forum made up of sane adults. Whatever those sane adults want to talk about, OT or not, is OK by me. I'm just a stickler for the 'sane' and 'adult' parts. That's all I have to say about it. The five minutes I spent makign this post is all the time and thought I care to give to it.

I'm not quite convinced with the analogy because there's a LOT that goes on here that I wouldn't allow in my house... A FREAKING LOT!!! But, this isn't my house so for me, determining the rules is going to be based on a different perspective, or context if you will.

Just so I'm not mistaken, I have seen absolutely no value in Rob's posts since he's been here, but again, it's in two threads only as far as I can tell so as long as he doesn't start flooding the place, I am uncomfortable doing anything other than allowing the forum to self-moderate as it always has, for the most part.

We have a situation of the chicken and the egg here. In my opinion, a lot of the people that use TGP use it *because* of the rule enforcement. And by the way I don't have an issue with TGP, I just don't see a reason to follow their model, even if it's a good one.

Actually I get a kick out of this thread, it is harmless and at times strangely entertaining. Rob is holding his own and anyone taking him or this thread too seriously is making a mistake. Just my $.02.

Actually, his past few posts have been coherant. What I don't care for are the "word barfs" where you're left thinking "WTF did I just read?"
