I always have a bitch of a time dialing mesas in. Once they are dialed though they’re great. I’m surprised you went away from the “mesa V”…..seems to work though!! ?
I much prefer the upper mid tone of an elevated 2200 to the honky mid tone of the 750- at least in the live mix. This is my 4th C++ but the first one that I had Mike make switchable. In this case the tone doesn't shift at all, only the added boost & grease. That said, the Coli power section is a different animal so IDK if the smaller power sections would respond in the same way..?Going off memory having owned a IIC+ and currently a IIC++, when you switch to ++ mode do the mids shift a little higher besides more gain?

The standard V can work live as well if you add enough presence, then drop the 6600 just a little bit to comphensate. First rule of Marks- Dial with your ears, not your eyes! Remember this is a Coliseum, not one of those pussy 4 power tube amps.Sounds good, but with settings like that... treble at 9 and bass at 0 why do you find it nessessary to add a OD that will just thin out your tone even more?? When I boost a mark I like to bring the treble down a notch or two, bring the bass up and dial a slightly flubby tone, then use the OD/boost to tighten things back up. When boosting a Mark IV i'll use kinda neutral settings, like treble 6, mids 4, bass 4, so it almost sounds rectoish, and the boost just brings the mid push like the treble knob would do with it at 8 or 9. You don't want too much pre-amp gain in the mids as things will end up thinning out. Add a little bass, even if it's just at 1 or 2, and dial back your treble to like 7, you'll be surprised how much more body your tone has. You're feeding that amp WAY to much pre-gain midrange, you're essentially double boosting, all in the mids with no body to the tone.
Just some suggestions. You can tell me to go to hell.
