So what are you guys using for practice amps?

New KSR Gemini with two Cameron 4x12's and an ISP sub.

I had a mark IV 1x12 combo, but hated the little tone of 1 speaker.

Don't play thru headphones anymore. Love the Cameron cabs too much. Would really like to get a Yamaha silent gut string acoustic.

I've seen these at guitar center but didn't play through them

Don't LISTEN to this guy. He's got a Peavey Bandit Transtube decorated with nudes of dudes and he doesn't use anything but EMGs. He's clueless when it comes to tone and guitars and pays lot lizards for audio of Hemingway. Seriously.

For years I used my Roland JC-55 combo (2x8") with a bunch of pedals (main drive comes from a H&K Tubefactor + modded DOD 250), now it's usually the Ironball or the 5150 III 50W, on a 2x12 cab. My neighbors 'mentioned' it. ;)

My upstairs amp is a Mesa ta15, love that little amp. Currently switched it up and am using my Marshall 2553, which I must say is not a great bedroom amp, but I figured I would give it a try.

If I need to be completely silent, it's an iPad with JamUp Pro. If I can stand a small bit of volume, it's an old Vox DA-5. If I can stand a bit more, I'm firing up my Mesa Mark V with the excellent master volume. And a volume pedal in the loop...

Yamaha THR10X.

Works great for practicing and sounds awesome through a PA. Speaker sim is cool.

Marshall DSL40C w/ Mesa Vintage 30.
The master volume works well.

My main practice amp is a VHT Special 6 Ultra Combo 1/2-6W tube amp running Tung-Sol 12AX7's and EL34 power tube and 8-Ohm Celestion Vintage 30 Speaker for better EL34 impedance matching using 16-Ohms on the amp. The original VHT Chromeback speaker is 16-Ohms which is very good too. I like using the Ultra input so I can drive the Volume knob to 1:30 and use the Ultra knob as a master volume. I can get nice sounding tube amp bedroom levels that way.

For silent practice I use a Blackstar ID:Core Stereo 20.

I want to try one of these as well. Would be a perfect practice amp. It also runs on batteries.

I used to use my MK IV at the lowest possible settings but since people could even hear that, I've moved onto the Zvex Mini Amp. It sounds great, quiet as hell, and I even got mine for less than $200. If you have a work office and don't want to disturb anyone, it's a great investment.
