According to the Cameron website you can order one.

Whats the hold up is he still in business?

Check out the Cameron sub forum here. Mark's a really nice guy (in my experience), but has had some issues with production.

Shame, I'd love to try one.

Why waste the money on the CCV when you can get a Cameron modded Marshall for around 2k. I've heard and played the CCV and i wouldn't blow that kind of monye on one, even though it's a great sounding head. There's other amps that sound as good if you keep your eye out for them, Jose and Aldrich Marshalls show up from time to time on the forums. With Fortin around, you have another avenue to explore. And i know 100% that with Fortin, when i send him my amp I'm going to get MY amp back, not someone elses. And i won't have to wait 3 years for it.

Ordering one and receiving one are two completely different things.

It's plain and simple to me. If you've owned this amp, own one, or have gotten to play through it and have a decent set of ears and understanding of guitar tone you'd know that this amp just kills.... There aren't many out there and it's obvious people will pay for them because of that. I've been offered big money for my ccv on several different occasions, i simply would never sell it because i know that if i did that i would regret it and have to chase that tone for probably the rest of my life or until i found another one which would be RARE!

I totally agree Nick....

The bottom line is that NOTHING sounds and feels like Mark's amps IMHO. The CCV, HG Jose, Ocean & Aldrich are all variations of the fundamental Cameron tone that for me can't be touched.

There were 3 independent bids in that auction at right around 5k, so obviously that's what the amp is worth.
This isn't necessarily true. With a high buy it now, you know the reserve isn't going to be too much below that. The people bidding could have just been bidding up for fun knowing they were not going to hit the reserve price....

Let's hope the poor bastard doesn't need to send it in for repairs.

Why? You just need tar remover to get at the components.
Rumor has it you need tar remover to get to my mom's components.

Ok that was just wrong........... but very funny.

for me a Cameron ain't worth much if Mike Fortin can get me what i want, but suppose somebody will allways want the Camerons?

i look at Camerons like a slutty girlfriend, they fucky sucky real good, but eventually you trade them in for something more reliable.

That's why you get four sluts (CCV, Jose, Ocean, Aldrich)....and keep them in rotation.

I know what you're saying but I kind of doubt it George.

Who bids $5K for fun? If you do hit reserve you're on the line for it. That would be a pretty big risk just to get your kicks.

Happens all the time....feel out the reserve. If it's hit, retract the bid. It's ebay, why do you think so many hate it. :)

Folks, did I mention my Cameron Jose is for sale? $5000

I've also got a dime for sale that I found inside my CCV box - undoubtedly touched by Mark Cameron himself - $.50 plus shipping

I will play devils advocate here. I had a CCV and it didn't thrill me as much as my Cameron modded Marshalls and my Friedman Mods. Don't get me wrong the one I owned was a cool amp albeit a bit noisy but there are lots of choices out there and I think this is a bit of wanting the forbidden fruit.

I met Mark at NAMM in in Feb and he was a decent dude to speak with but I cant get down with the way he does business. I think $5100 was a great price for the seller, like I said I sold mine for $3500 so I guess I am a tool but oh well.

YMMV

ps: I love Nick and Todds playing and respect their opinions as well, just sayin it wasnt the holy grail for me.

Shit, if I was offered $3500 for a CCV it would be fucking gone, dont care how it sounded as I would at sometime find another solution to replace it.

Jeezus dude, you'll find me in the basement with a flak jacket and helmet on, hiding in the corner, let me know how this works out... :D

Agree this will turn into a really popular thread! :checkthisout:

The short, short answer to your question is yes. The counter-question is, what do you call "in business," is it having a place of work, or actually fulfilling customers orders? Or even having a rough estimate of sometime in the future that your customers will ever see their amp? Check out some of the threads on the Cameron board, which has really turned into a board where people vent their frustrations about not getting their amps, and every now and then someone from Cameron gets on and posts an apology, or an excuse as to why people haven't received their amp for years...I question the validity of that forum but for the sake of the people that desperately need some kind of communication with that company that will get answered.

After seeing threads like this a fully loaded Mark IIC+ loaded long head I bought for 2500 was a steal.

I dont like paying more that 2k on a amp that I have no artist or recording to refrence for tone.

Its crazy, but I have been offered 3K for either of my Cameron Marshalls. Perhaps I'm crazy for not selling either of them :D

this is why I am getting my SLP done by Fortin now, I just have a sneaky feeling ;) :)

So you have a sneaky feeling that Mike will start keeping peoples amps for years and not producing any more of his amps and that your Fortin Modded Marshall will be worth thousands of dollars? If this is true, I better send him a half dozen amps now and get him addicted to something after I get them back.

It was blatantly artificially bumped up on the last bids. It's OBVIOUS. Come on folks, do a little detective work.

Anyone who would pay that much for that amp, needs to have their head checked and probably just has too much money on their hands.

Wow! $2500 was certainly a steal...congrats!!! I traded Todd Duane my Herbert for his IIC+ and never looked back. Love that amp....the best Boogie ever made IMHO

Not to make light of your past situation, but you were one of the ones I was thinking of when I wrote that.

Oh, and all this talk of Cameron's amps being magical and the greatest ever is bullshit. I'm sick of it. It's simply not true, I've heard other mods and amps that sound better without any of the hassle. I'm so tired of the hype machine around gear, it disgusts me. Just a bunch of motherfuckers wanting what they can't have, or what the next guy down the line has. It's all hype. I don't care who gets offended. Go start a fucking stamp collection.
