(Sold) 1971 Marshall Super Bass 100W

We got approved last minute to adopt a husky puppy from a home where it’s in danger. It needs Spaying and the rest of her shots. This amp is now for sale and needs to move.

Marshall is all original - Daly caps and original iron. Death cap still connected, still 2 prong chord. Original headshell, and I also have the original rear cover complete with the small 1992 model sticker. Chassis externally is rusted from 18 years of storage in upstate NY where I found it.

Needs completely gone over. I’d be willing to electronically restore it and bias it for even trade outright towards an LPC, or trade as-is plus cash on my end where owner assumes the restoration responsibility. People always want absolute originality and this is as original as it gets. This is being traded as non-working only because it’s too risky to attempt without a ballast and variac both. I purchased it with the intention of restoring it but have lost interest for personal use.

Due to the nature of this trade I’m not willing to ship but would be willing to meet up to 500 miles from MD in person.

This is not for sale outright but I’ll entertain cash offers, the worst I could say is no thanks.

Any questions feel free to PM. Serious trades feel free to PM for my number to call and we will talk.

Trade value would be $4,200 completely electronically restored/brought back to life and gig-worthy.

It needs recapped both bias and filters, 3 prong chord, death cap disconnected, all coupling capacitors checked for DC leakage, and every single screw and electrical chassis ground connection replaced. $3,500 trade value - the absolute most premium parts money can buy are in it.

This is built for EL34s from the factory before they mandated 6550s.

Yes, this is a Rosemary.

Original owner passed away due to cancer, I bought it off of his son who doesn’t play. That is why it was stored.

How much would you want in the condition it is in now?

Honestly I’m not hurting enough to sell outright. I know it’s worth more in trade than in cash in its current condition which is why I’d rather trade.

If I had to sell outright, I’d rather just restore it - I’d fall short of LPC value, hence the desire for trade.

Heres a picture of the amplifier being used in the back line by the previous owner (RIP)

Sounds good Matt, I understand. Such a cool story and I would really love to get this amp going again. Cheers brother!

Change of plans. We got approved to adopt a husky puppy at the last minute and now we have to pay for Spaying and the rest of her shots.

This amps now up for sale. $2600 as-is. This has to move.

Someone got a great deal on a great amp. This just needs some new caps and you're good to go(I'm assuming the buyer has a good tube stash!)

I absolutely love my 72 Tremolo. Nothing like it other than another vintage amp like this one. No clone, reissue et al compares.

I won’t make the buyer public unless they want to, but it is a forum member and we did mutually agree that if they ever decide to sell in the future, that I would be notified far in advance of anyone else so that I could purchase it back no questions asked. It deserves to be gone through and I wanted a great player/member that knows the importance of this one not being modified to keep it for historical reasons and not trash it. I’m satisfied with where it’s going and know it’s not far away.
