Soldano Avenger 100w EL34

My only Soldano experience was when I tried SLO and HR25 years ago which I both loved and regret I didn't buy then..
I've come across this Avenger and thought it sounded amazing. This one had EL34s with Mercury Magnetics transformers with a label "Mercury Magnetics SLO 0100B".
The only thing faulty was that it reeked of cigarette smell...

Anyone has any experience with the EL34 version?
How are they compared to the 6L6 version?

Does this one have the good loop? I know some of the Avengers had a buffered loop. Man, these are killer amps. Been on my bucket list for sure!

My only experience with a Soldano is a Hot Rod 50. LOVED that amp, hated the loop!

My Avenger didn't have a loop but it was AMAZING! Should have never sold it. Got it on closeout for $999 new from GC about 10 years ago.

Mine has no loop. I heard Soldano amps have a lousy loop anyway which is probably their only weakest link, so I didn't mind not having one.
It's a gain monster, I have gain set at 3.5 and it's so much gain already.

My only experience with a Soldano is a Hot Rod 50. LOVED that amp, hated the loop!

Just run a W/D system with the slave out. You probably won't care for ANY fx loop again.

The Loop on the HR25 is great, its one of the reasons I went with the H25 over another Soldano model.

Yes I heard the HR25 is the only one with an updated loop. I dig the HR25 too, a huge sounding little amp.
