Concerning SLO's; which are more coveted, early models (late 80's-early 90's) , or some the later amps (04-08) ? Anyone on here owned different year models & noticed much difference ?

SLO's are consistently made. Don't think there's going to be much difference. Some will probably say the earlier models are more raw. I love mine. It's a 92. Ended my amp search.

Thanks bro. I was considering one made in 2007. Just curious if any changes were made over the production years.

I had a 1990 and 2008 and a 2011.. they all sounded the same

A little SLO pron

Here's my 97'

The very early ones ('88? I think) used a different layout. After that, the layout has been the same. If you look at the boards over the various years, it's obvious that they've used different components at certain positions. Whether that makes any difference, I don't know. I've only played (and owned) one from '89. I'd consider it the best amp I've ever played.

I own a 2007 SLO. One of the best built amps out there. The tone is just fantastic.

I'm loving that Jackson in your avatar!

Thanks bro ! It's a nice playing axe. I liked the way the light caught the lightning in that pic.

Here's a YT clip of my '92.

Love it ! Gotta say there are plenty of expensive amps out there. I have just never found anything that was as consistent and rockin as Soldanos.

Consistent hits the nail on the head. Yeah, the SLO sounds great, especially in a band mix. Being able to totally rely on an amp and never worry if it's gonna sound good or not is worth every penny of a higher price tag.

Love my snake skin covered '98 with matching cab. If you get the head get a cab. They do go well together…

Both sound the same

Some cool amps in your sig. Straight up rock/metal (ala Ratt, Dokken, etc) Is the SLO your preference ?

Couldnt find a bad tone in my 07.( with all the mods). However for some reason I connect even more with my X88R Pre.The thing just rips heads off. But, ya, one of the best amps on the market for sure.

i have lots of amps

i have tried lots more amps

i always get a smile on my face after hitting my first A chord when I turn it on!
